I've patched up "her story" and I thought I'd find this search for meaning through a more linear but more flexible story.
Not at all. We watch a TV series or the interactivity is limited to the choice of the main video, and the choice of this main video influences the unfolding when the point on the temporal line proposes branches (above the videos).
I played on a 4K screen. However, in this format we do not need to change videos, we can follow the videos in small format without problem, so the choice of feed is only to tell the game that one wants this character who intervene.
The correspondence between "main video selection" and "influence if branch at this time" is not natural.
It takes a pair of episodes to understand that whatever choices we will have a pre-written story that falls back on its paws. We make choices about props, not the main story. This is logical since it is video and not an open world.
I would love an extra layer to the story: we are a hacker who follows from the beginning and we collect information about people (names, places, numbers, etc.), if it is well done, we can spoofer the identity of such or such character.

#WarGames is the new project of Sam Barlow, who was already the excellent her story.
We are here in a somewhat different register, although still in a derivative of FMV. Exit the investigative side since we are on an adventure on Rails.
Basically, we just follow the story and we only act on it at 2-3 moments, and again, at the margin.
The only control that we have on the game is the video Windows, a little bit as if you were attending an episode of 24 and you could become the Director.
We choose the Windows that we want to put forward in order to better follow a particular protagonist or camera.
It looks useless said like that but it is the only link that involves us in the game and it works since we find ourselves to track the details on each image.
The story is quite classic, a kind of sub-Mr robot, but well-played, special mention to Jess nurse who plays Kelly grant aka Lightman, whom I fell in love with immediately.
The game is not very long but we take a milking during the two hours it offers.
In view of the price (€3), this is clearly not the flight, especially since the replayability is there in order to explore all the possible options, evidenced by the fifty successes that punctuating the game.
The title could be misleading since it is nothing like a reboot of the famous film of the same name, even if a few winks are scattered in the game of Barlow.
A very good time I recommend!
