NOTE: This game is in its earliest alpha version, and is not really playable (yet). The current prototype version of the game itself was created in less than two weeks, before being paused due to other projects. Tile GFX assets are reused from other projects. Therefore, expect tons of bugs and unbalances, incomplete graphics and gameplay.
Since the RGCD entry submission deadline is steadily advancing, I decided to release the game as an open alpha in order to start work on completion. What remains is the following:
- Complete overhaul of tile graphics (I'm not really a gfx artist, so this may take some time)
- Overhaul of dungeon generation method
- Multiple dungeon screens (by finding the exit)
- Biomes
- More varied monsters
- Weapon types
- Balances

Wormwood is a 16kb classic roguelike action RPG game for the Commodore 64. In the spirit of games such as Diablo and Nethack, you explore a randomly generated dungeon that is filled with loot, upgrades, sacred shrines, traps and monsters. Death is permanent, and the only real objective is to reach as far into the depths as possible. Or is it? yes, it really is. I haven't really thought of anything else yet.
