About

In XenoShyft: Onslaught, players take on the role of a Commander in the NorTec Corporation. You're tasked with defending the NorTec base as wave after wave of horrific aliens attempt to destroy it and end NorTec's strip mining operation in this beautifully illustrated, base defense, deck-building game.

XenoShyft is a game for 1 to 4 players, with each player controlling one of the divisions of the NorTec military: The Science Labs, Med Bay, Armory, Weapon's Research, Barracks and Command Center. Each of these divisions represents one part of the overall NorTec base with their own unique abilities, and it is your job as Commander of these divisions to protect the base while its field operations are completed.

"One of the most fun co-op games I have played in a long time!" - Tom Vasel (The Dice Tower)

"The enemies are just monstrous and difficult!" - Rodney Smith (Watch it Played)

XenoShyft reviews and comments

The idea of a deckbuilding tower defense is well-managed, it costs little respect the physical counterpart (especially the pack with the expansions), sci-fi horror graphics, organic and very themed. Not very tasty The UI and can be improved, it seems all very cool but of different notice is to use it on the field. Too difficult, you always have the maps of the cabbage on its own line and when the fighting arrives you are practically overstayed. Maybe not in Wave 1, but already half wave 2 things get unrecoverable and the rounds are 9. I don't see the light. There are so many things you can buy but you don't have nearly enough resources. I also feel a bad scalability, almost want to force to play in many, which is not a problem (supported the hotseat and the multiplayer) but in short, 1VS1 is tough. If I play at the Easy level, to learn, it must be Easy gosh. As Many users have complained about the point are several dependencies by luck (pool resources, points to buy, totally random enemies) that sap the planning, side anyway that from (would give) satisfactions. Too bad the lack of cross-buy with the counterpart on mobile (many have to learn from Star Realms). I keep it monitored and in case I reevaluate, for now it is no. It Does not amuse, which for a GdT that is physical or digital is the minimum that must be ensured.

Sid Meier once said: "A good Game is a Sequence of interesting Decisions." And that'S what XenoShyft is enough to do. In each Move one is presented with interesting Decisions, that is demanding but also immensely fun. Weighing up the Options gets even better in the Co-op. Thus, the Game itself (like the Board game) is first class, but the Port to the PC is a single Disaster. It's so bug contaminated that it's unplayable. A Parable: Imagine playing Chess, but you're not allowed to move the Runner every second Move and all 3 Games break the Board. It remains the case that Chess itself is a great Game, but not to be endured under the Conditions. And that's exactly how the myriad Flaws in Xenoshyft feel. Non-playable Cards, many Complete Crashes (gives no memory function, thus always Reboot), pedantic and flawed interpretation of Game rules, weak Undo functions, that everything leaves even the most patient Masochists giving up. The non-playable Karters have been fixed, but it still often crashes in Multiplayer (Booth 26.08.2016) Can't make a Recommendation yet, please don't buy. P.S.: If you want to test the Co-op: Forget it, the average Number of Players is 1.1, so it's never who else online. Too Bad, too bad, too bad.
