Game engineer Lance McDonald found that the game had a cut multiplayer mode literally called Battle Royale. Dark Souls 3 was released long before we got PUBG and Fortnite which means that part of the code wasn't connected to the hype they had.

Anyway, it'd be interesting to know more details about this "Battle Royale". Maybe, McDonald will find something else in the game. Now he only got the Battle Royale ceremony sword which, unfortunately, can't be equipped.
