Chasm finally gets a release date for PC, PS Vita and PS4

Comment from Serge Ulankin
2D metroidvania Chasm is finally going to come out on July 31, Bit Kid said. Chasm will cost $19.99 and you will be able to buy it on PlayStation Store, Steam and Humble. The PlayStation versions will be cross-buy compatible. The Steam page is already here but you can't preorder the game →

The game was under development for around 6 years. It was successfully crowdfunded on Kickstarter in 2013 and lots have happened since. Like its developer changed name to Bit Kid, previously it was Discord Games.

In Chasm, you get to play as a knight in the Guildean Kingdom. Of course the kingdom is doing bad so you have to restore peace and fight swarms of monsters.

The game is partly “procedurally generated,” or—as the devs call it—“procedurally assembled.” Here's how Bit Kid puts it: “Though the overall story is the same for all players, your hero's journey will be unique: each of the rooms has been hand-designed, and behind the scenes Chasm stitches these rooms together into a one-of-a-kind world map that will be your own.”

Here's a new trailer of Chasm. It's good.

I feel like the price is a bit too steep for me to try it out...
