Great 3D action platformer game - awesome graphics, nice plot and responsive gameplay.

Ruined the original story and mocks fans like we wouldn't be upset they completely re-wrote ratchet's story
Very short, a lack of characterization for several main characters (including Crank!) but it’s looks great and the weapons/action are fun.
Overall: 6/10
Gameplay: 7/10
Story: 6/10 if you grew up with the duo, 4/10 if you didn’t.
Music: 6/10
This game is, for me, a nostalgia trip. Almost any of its appeal comes purely from that and nothing else, as the game itself is pretty mediocre. The gameplay is fun, and we’re given the usual wacky guns and antics you can expect from a Ratchet and Clank game. The mechanics involving the duo working together that I loved in the older games are less apparent here, however. It’s a short enough game that it never feels too repetitive or boring, but it’s just... mediocre! The story is fine, but feels reliably childlike. (I remember the original having much more engaging plot lines and being spiced with edgier humor.) Overall, worth a play if you grew up with the series if only to relive those memories. Also worth a play if you’re young, or are playing with a youngster (under the age of 11 I’d say). Skip it if you don’t fall into either of those categories, though.

This is a standard Playstation 3D platformer/shooter. The tone is cheeky and maybe funny to a teenager, but didn't work on me. It's disappointing because Ratchet and Clank are great characters surrounded by idiots.
The final boss was infuriatingly hard in a way that the devs didn't prepare me for throughout the campaign.
The guns was very fun, and while the upgrade path was a little gimicky it was nice upgrading them.

It's a good old Ratchet & Clank game well rebooted, the new graphics look amazing and it's very entertaining. It felt kind of short to me.
Ratchet and Clank is a game based on a movie nobody watched based on a game almost everyone played until that streak ended with current-gen consoles saying, "I hate the past because it is stinky."
For a reboot, it's tame compared to other entries. For a standalone game for newcomers like myself, it's not that bad. The game itself is really, really fun and the gameplay is super engaging while also being VERY hard. Though some of the music is eh, the characters are ehh, and the writing is ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I also don't like how this game apparently thinks I've never played a video game before and has the balls to remind me of every little thing like underwater, jetpacks, jumping, rails, money, trees, air, oxygen, food, shelter, Earth, the universe, the galaxy, death itself, just knock it off already. Let's not forget to mention that everyone in this is legally required to spout corny one-liners that make them look like tween gamer shirts at Walmart every fifth of a second.
It's definitely got its poopy moments, but I still recommend it if you want more action platformer shooters. I'd say it's worth $20, but I got it for free on PS Plus, so go your own way, I guess.

My childhood. Ratchet & Clank is funny, quirky and platforming at its best. This remake of the original title is well worth the time and money. 8.5/10
Probably if I had played original games on PS2 or if I were 7 years old I would love this title. Unfortunately I got bored after 7 hours and barely made it to the end, but I still enjoyed it!

Do not remember why, but I just dropped it.
Gameplay here is pretty ok, but without interesting scenario and nothing special at all.
To tell the truth, it was rather boring then fun.

First – I never played the original games (booing is heard in a room), so I won’t compare the original and the reboot, but I really liked the new one. Ratchet & Clank ticked all the right boxes for me: it looks great, has a cool protagonist and a lovely sidekick, a lot of nice characters, tons of cool guns, from your typical blaster to a “shotgun” that transforms all the enemies into pixels, as well as a fireworks launcher (with some epic music playing while firing), many different gadgets that unlock throughout the story and allowing you to re-visit previous places to collect all the things metroidvania-style and a nice set of locations to see and bosses to kill.
The story is nothing special, but it does its job to keep you going and allows for some character development. The most important part – the game keeps you hooked, there is no time when I didn’t know what to do or was bored. As soon as story was slowing down a bit – game gave me a new mechanic to play with (jetpack levels are the best) or a new location to visit. So, if you want to spend your weekends playing a very polished, colorful game that will let you destroy tons of bad guys with all the imaginable guns in the universe, then I recommend you checking it out.
