The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt review

205 hours later, finally beat it! Played through both Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine as well as what had to be every side quest in the base storyline. The main story was great, but I have to agree with what a lot of people thought, which was that the Blood and Wine expansion was just as good if not better than the main story. Toussaint and the many additions (grandmaster armor, mutagens, Corvo Bianco, etc.) all played into a fantastic ending to the Witcher 3. On my playthrough, I think I got the best ending: saving Syanna, killing Dettlaff, and despite Regis being exiled, Geralt and him part amicably which I liked. The ending was a nice cap to the main story. Hearts of Stone was good as well - Ogeird was a character, and Gaunter O’Grimm certainly made things interesting. Enjoyed all the different areas, Skellige and Toussaint being my favorite (except for the fact that so many points of interest in Skellige were in the water and required a boat). There were certainly parts towards the end where I was tired of continuing to play...but I’m glad I finished it. One of the best games I’ve played, and certainly managed to keep my attention for many, many hours.

A game that is simply a masterpiece — ideal, perfect. If you’re looking for a story-driven open-world game, this is the perfect choice for you. The equipment crafting system is amazing and very enjoyable — nothing complicated, and the same goes for alchemy. Everything is clear and well designed. The skill tree is also done in a simple way — nothing overly complex, very readable yet highly expanded. With each playthrough, you can try a completely different build. Of course, some builds are more overpowered than others, but all of them are viable and fun to play. I’ve completed this game about five times and I will finish it a few more times for sure. This game simply never gets boring! The characters are incredible, and it’s very easy to get attached to them and like them. The dialogues are just as good — some lines are still stuck in my head to this day. The locations are also beautiful, ranging from swampy areas to icy islands. The story is very dynamic and engaging, and everything fits together nicely. The expansions are also very immersive, with stunning locations and wonderful stories. The game is created with a Slavic atmosphere, so while playing it you can dive into Slavic culture and learn many traditions. I’m from Poland myself, so I can confirm that the game captures our vibe perfectly. If there’s anyone who has never played this game — don’t even think twice, just buy it immediately. I would give a lot to be in your place and experience it again without remembering anything.

Masterpiece.
Yes it's still a tiny bit jank and combat is overly simple, even with the multitude of options you're given. But that's all the bad here. The world is beautiful and a joy to explore, quests are amazingly designed and the soundtrack is phenomenal.
