At first, I was rushing through the stages and I was having a great time, at least till I arrive to the final part which has some interesting design and difficult choices.

Mega Man 2 is one of those games that has a free pass in gaming conversations about being classic, difficult and well designed, and is easy to see why is that, the controls are great and responsive and the music is nothing short of genius, the bosses are memorable and it has a lot of charm, although it also has some problems which it shares with a lot of games of that era. It can be quite unforgiven and unfair, with a lot of cheap deaths that punishes with far checkpoints and less weapon energy, in order to beat a game like this you have a lot of skill or at least a save state. It's hard to recommend a game like this but if you are willing to "cheat" a little and make some checkpoints here and there, you'll have a great and challenging time.

Although I believe is better than the first one in a lot of regards, I couldn't find a fight as memorable and good like the yellow devil, the pattern of some bosses seems very similar and can feel a little repetitive, but that is not to say that it doesn't have great moments, for instance, I loved the narrative of the final boss, it has a creepy and uncanny atmosphere that took me off guard. As for the one thing that I liked the most, it might be the music, it's energic and it fits perfectly with the ambient and the stages, maybe the boss theme can become a little repetitive but it's still great.

For a gaming enthusiast Mega Man 2 is a must If you want to go the extreme route and play it like it was meant to be, by all means, give it a shot, but also I think that if you're playing it in Legacy Collection and don't overuse its tools, you'll have a great experience nonetheless.
