Dishonored Definitive Edition review
by Devon

I've been really fascinated by the immersive sim genre recently and the legacy of these games and emergent gameplay as a whole, and this game is one of the first recent (if nearly 10 years old is recent in everyone's opinion) games in the genre I've played. Most of the time, I feel as though these games aren't able to touch the freedom and simplicity of Deus Ex and Thief, even games within their own franchise, but Dishonored is a beautiful example of a studio studying the past and learning from their experiences and the experiences of others. It's one of the first modern immersive sims (not that it is a genre suffering from overabundance) that feels like a true step forward from the 90s PC classics and it truly never gets old with the replayability and branching strategies.

This is one of my favorite games. The worldbuilding, the characters, the setting, and of course the gameplay are all stellar ingredients that are woven together to create an instant classic. I love this game so much and each and every map is so intricately designed. No stealth game has ever come close since this game has been released.
