In an arcade-style racing game, isn't that all that matters? I'm surprised to hear that this game was criticized for poor graphical detail. Like, yeah, that's not the point. In exchange for a low polygon count, f-zero offers what is possibly the tightest, most intense and smoothest experience on the n64.
