A Fisherman's Tale by Innerspace VR, arte and Vertigo Games, VR players long known for Games like Arizona Sunshine and Skyworld, is a charming VR adventure about a Fisherman in his old Lighthouse and no Fishing Simulator or a Storytelling. But The Story is fantastic anyway and something is also liked!
At the Beginning of the Story, however, we do not play the old Fisherman, but a small Wooden Doll, which looks similar to the old Fisherman for mistake. A massive Storm is approaching and the Ships at Sea are ordered back into port by the Coast Guard. Our Hero, the Fisherman or rather a Lighthouse Keeper is now trying to get the Lighthouse back in motion in this surreal Story. How surreal the Story, or the World in which it is set, can be quickly seen when you look around the little Hut in which you are standing.
One is located as a small Wooden Doll in a Lighthouse House, the one Model hut, which is surrounded by an old Lighthouse, which also has a Model hut, which is built on an old Lighthouse, and so on and so on and so on ...
Since this Scale Goes both Ways, there are cool visual Effects in the Game, as if two Mirrors were juxtaposed and an infinite Tunnel appears in these. A Kind of Endless Loop of "Realities" has emerged.
This Effect is also the main use in Fisherman's Tale to handle the Tasks on the way to the top Of the Tower. The Player moves either by Teleport or Roomscale through the Hut in Search of objects that seem helpful. These can then be taken from one (own) reality and reduced by placing them in the smaller Model, or enlarging them by transporting them into the larger Model of the World. The Player controls all of them (!) Fishermen at once, so if you throw something into the smaller Model, it drops the bigger model above you into your World or Hut as well.
This all sounds very confused and complicated, but it is not at all. The Puzzles are all very quick to understand and quite easy to solve. There is a Clue system that really does not let the player down, the Really Good and German Narrative voice. There are also two other funny Characters in the Game, which are also very well syncronized. At this Point you can also see that the Game is clearly a Family Game. The Control is intuitively well dissolved and works great with the Vive controllers. Only the Collision Query is sometimes a bit choppy. Objects you hold in your Hand sometimes get stuck on Corners in the Room when you turn around. But That is really the only negative Point. Things Get lost, but spawn them again after a short Time at the original Location. So not a really big Problem.
The Graphics are an excellent Comic Style that captures the Atmosphere of History very well. The musical Accompaniment also fits perfectly with the Place and supports the Drama of some Scenes very well.
However, what really stands out negatively is the Length of the Story. 1.5h is needed to solve all the Puzzles around the Lighthouse. Due to the excellent technical Implementation, the Game is also worth the Full Price. A Game that makes super use of VR to tell its Story should of course be known to every VR lover, hence a Must in the Sale so that it is not missing in any VR library!

A pretty short, but still solid VR story.
The concept is that you're a puppet living in a miniature lighthouse with a model of the same lighthouse within. So you can scale objects by picking them from the miniature and putting them into the miniature. With some pretty cool recursion moments. Just watch the trailer and you'll see what I mean.
I would recommend this to a fresh VR player, while experienced players might find it a bit too basic.

Overall - a good pick for room-scale VR experience with some nice visuals. Even tho the storytelling is a bit lacking at times.
