As an experienced guitar player I can say that you will get faster and better results by learning guitar in a classic way, but it is still fun to include game element in that process.
Also there is an option to play with friends, which should be even more fun.

However I find the interface to review, lack of ergonomics.

And some note detection worries potentially related to my setting (I don't know).

More seriously, Rocksmith is quite complete. Classes, mini-games and songs galore! (Interested in SourceForge which allows you to add up millions of songs updated fairly regularly, you will need just a little technique but explanations are available on YouTube or on their forum;))
I have about a hundred hours at the moment but I feel the margin of progression, it is very pleasant.

Rocksmith is just great, I've been doing guitar for 2 years as a self-taught and having this game is really huge for perfecting or even learning guitar from scratch.
