Nex Machina review
Exceptional

Fantastic voxel exploding, twin-stick action. It's challenging, pretty, supports 2 players and is a lot of fun. Has an absolutely killer soundtrack too. Greatly recommended.

With me, it runs almost easily with the xbox one controller. The control is rather inaccurate and choppy for a thin-stick shooter. Also with mouse and tastatur. After several attempts, the game in single player mode as such seems quite desolate and boring to me, although I like twin-stick shooters in itself. That is why, for the best sake, I no longer have a desire to sacrifice more time for it. I also think a puzzle as to who has provided such good ratings, and I therefore also wonder whether the evaluation system as such is really appropriate. Quite coherent, lupcal and funny, on the other hand, I find the retro electronica soundtrack, with the saturated retro basses, beats and 80-er sythie-sounds it raises the level of the game enormously. Rather rather direction well ement I find the somewhat colorful effects. But guess that belongs to this game from this manufacturer with-to this and, like the whole game, are pure a taste thing. You notice, compared to outland, that the developer has improved all round. Only a consistently interesting and variety level design as well as a finer control are missing to my gamer happiness. Well, there are so many games nowadays, because there are enough alternatives ... For me, too.

Nex Machina is a classic twin shooter like you could find in the good old Amusement Arcades 30 Years ago. The Graphics are solid, and the Effects have been really good. There's real ONE MENGE going on screen, while resisting quite a wide Variety of Enemies, their Shots evading, rescuing Civilians and trying to find one or the other hidden Gimmick in the Level. The Shot direction is determined (on the X Box 360 controller, which I recommend to Play) With the A-X-Y-B buttons, the Control with the left stick, on LB/LT is the Dash (jump/glide), on RB/RT the respective Special Weapon, some of which exist. Even the Soundtrack is really good, fun and further fueling the Mood. I thought it was good that the Game is really simple-you don't need any Tutorial, after a few Rounds of testing you know what's going on and how the Game works. It's entertaining, and personally there was a really nice 90s Feel to me-very cool. The Game, though, is really, really short. I don't even know what it looks like with my Playing Time-a few few Hours, I'd guess. You Can definitely play through comfortably on a leisurely Evening. Sure, the arcade mode comes in a few Difficulty Levels, and there are 1-2 other Modes-but I'm not that 100% type now, for me was there after once ricking through not much to pick up. The successful Game Design and the great Atmosphere definitely gives a Thumbs up. For just under 20 Euros, however, I find Nex Machina To be clearly too expensive. I once bagged it in a Sale, because it cost 5 Euros, so I think I remember. You can definitely take it with you for that.

If you expect 100 hrs of pure content from Nex Machina - then you'll be dissapointed.
But if you enjoy old-school games, where each beaten level feels like a real achievement - that's a game for you. It has the whole package: many difficulty levels, a ton of enemies, even more bullets flying at you, cool bosses with phases, leaderboards, time trial and so on.
And yeah, it looks amazing, thanks to the mix of traditional geometry and voxels.
If the above sounds like your kinda thing - definitely check it out!
