I played over 10 hours already and barely noticed the time. Nintendo has taken the Mario experience to the next levelm the game is HIGH quality. There's much to do, lots of content, lots of tiny things like clothes, etc. Lots of hidden secrets that accounts for great replayability level. Damn, I have the new Assassin’s Creed, and haven’t even bother to unwrap it, because the Mario being super good. If you own a Switch then this is a must buy game just like the new Zelda.

Wanted to play this since it’s launch and now 6.5 years later I was finally able to! Don’t really know what else to say than point out the obvious - this game is amazing, like every other 3D Mario game! I’m not sure about this new approach to collecting though. I’m a fan of collect-a-thons and collecting moons was highly addictive and satisfying, however I also miss when a 3D Mario game had a lot of stages and I mean A LOT. There is a lot of content too, so not a big deal - the worlds are not massive, but still feel like a joyful playground. Especially with new Cappy’s mechanic. So much to see in those worlds and the music is also good! The approach to story was a breath of fresh air. I remember it was weird seeing Mario be so expressive when this game just came out and thankfully his game is why it’s the norm to have him like this now! And also a very colorful art-style to accompany it!
The only downside is post-game content. I enjoy collecting but not as hunting for something. Basically I like when stuff is pointed out to collect and Odyssey has problems with it. There were countless times when I were lost on how to get a specific moon, which eventually is why I haven’t completed this game 100% and I doubt I will. Still, that means whenever I’d want to play some Mario again, I can always go back to this game!
Is this the best 3D Mario game? No, Galaxy still holds this name for me but it’s 2nd best. Is it a good 3D Mario game? Absolutely and you should buy it even for full-price! Especially if you’re like me and your favourite genres are 3D Platformers and Collect-a-thons.

It's a great polished game but lacks the level design finesse of its predecessors, despite a much more varied moveset.
In my opinion, the best Mario has ever been. The endless creativity of this game will keep you shocked from the time you press play to the roll of the credits to that 999th moon. The excess of collectables keeps the game chugging with progression, discovery, and allows you to see every detail these lands have to show you. The music is swelling, the lands are charming, and Mario controls better than he ever has. This game one of the greatest successes from Nintendo and will be looked back to compare future titles.
Holy shit this game is stupidly good. Every part of it is magical.
