Resident Evil 2 is a remake of the classic horror game from 1998. I never played the original, so I can't compare this one to it. To start, the game is a horror game, so it's very scary. I'm not much into horror games, but I enjoyed the game. I felt like it didn't throw too many jumpscares at you. There are especially many jumpscares in the beginning of the game, which suits the vibe of you being new in town. In some parts of the game, you'll be constantly followed by the terrifying Tyrant, an unstoppable enemy. This forces you to move quick and these parts are very intense.
The game is about 8 hours long, but never feels dragged out. The game has two main protagonists, Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield. Leon is on his first day as a cop when the game takes place, meanwhile, Claire is coming to the city to look for her brother. Before starting the game you'll get to pick who to play as. I would recommend playing through the game at least two times to experience both the protagonist's stories, even though much of it is the same.
The gameplay primarily consists of exploration, puzzles, and survival. The ammunition is very scarce, so you'll have to make your bullets count. The zombies take a lot of bullets to kill, so you'll have to only use your guns when necessary. The puzzles are very diverse and fun to solve, which is great considering that they take up a large sum of the game.
The final thing I want to talk about is the graphics. The lighting is simply phenomenal, and the amount of detail on faces is impressive. This makes the game very immersive to play, and therefore also scarier.
Overall Score: 9/10 - Amazing
+ Intense gameplay
+ The two protagonists each have their own stories, boosting replayability.
+ Stunning graphics with great lightning effects
+ Fun and diverse puzzles
- The game is a little short

This game was certainly a doozy! It's a game I've played across multiple consoles, but have never 100%. Well, until now. There's something so charming about this game, the environment, and the story that always keeps me coming back for more.
I truly have no notes for the environment Capcom has created. However, the 4th survivor and Ghost survivors extra content SUCKS. I felt they were hard for the sake of being hard. Another issue I did have was I did feel like the story was a little half baked. The A and B runs have massive continuity issues and it felt rushed. Almost like the game wasn't supposed to have the A and B runs and it was an added change mid development.
I feel like the A and B runs had a lot of potential and could've had massive changes to the story and the path the characters take. Despite all that, I did enjoy the story overall. Claire I felt had the most comprehensive story. Her run specific files give a lot more to the world building and gives you more fun and interactivity with the story over Leon's run. He is essentially told the plot from his partner, Ada. So it made his run feel a little more disconnected.
Overall, I really enjoyed this game. I will be playing it again, just probably not the extra modes. I really liked the content that the story has to offer and I love watching the unique challenge runs people do. It is a great start to the Resident Evil franchise if you've never played it, while still being a great edition for Veterans of the world.

Loved this game sooo much. Honestly, I always recommend this game first to ppl who wanna get into re
It's a good game, but 2 campaigns are not needed. The differences are too small even for 2nd story. Also sewers level is quite moderate attractions nowadays, almost dropped the game there. Graphics is exceptionally good - I can understand why people who played the original 20 years can experience deeper nostalgia feelings. Atmosphere, sound, shooting & puzzles are pleasing, but could be shorter or less motivating for 2nd useless walkthrough
8.5/10 if you do 1 walkthrough (I would say Leon's story is better)
7/10 if you go for both campaigns
