A game full of more awe-inspiring, emotional moments than you'd expect at first. Lovely atmosphere and a main character that you'll really be attached to by the end.

Red Dead Redemption is a must before graduating to RDR2.
Heart-stealing story with tears worthy ending. The story hits hard and is the sequel to RDR2. The ending genuinely stays with you. You do not just control John Marston, you inhabit him.
The game feels polished, with no noticeable bugs. Visually and technically it is ahead of its time: graphics, lighting, gunplay, horse mechanics, terrain, all of it worth the money. The pacing is spot on, never dragging and never rushed. Side quests feel meaningful rather than filler. The music is subtle, calm, and perfectly placed
If you care about games as a medium and have not played this, you are missing a benchmark. This is a standout achievement, plain and simple.

«Can’t stop playing»
I loved this game, but it didn’t hit the same way as RDR 2 for me. The story is great, no doubt, but the game feels a bit outdated. After playing RDR 2, I find it hard to go back to RDR 1—not just because of the graphics, but also due to the gameplay.

«That ending!»
Still the best Western game in existence.
Great story, a fantastic open world and solid missions.
Some of Rockstars best work.

We all remember riding into Mexico as the guitar strums pick up into Far Away by Jose Gonzalez. We all remember how liberating and uncharted Mexico felt and we all knew how picturesque it felt regardless of the time of day or weather. John exhaustedly hauling himself through sheer will towards a foreign land just to get back his family and redeem his past is a story so memorable that it is timeless.
