Persona 5 review
by Xhekros

This is like everyone’s favorite game but the ending is way too much of a slog for me and not all of the main cast is fleshed out. Fun game to play with great music and aesthetics, but just a little too long for my liking.

I haven’t even finished it yet and it is one of the best turn based rpgs I’ve played with a soundtrack that is godly

to preface, I'm not a huge fan of JRPGs or RPGs in general. however, I highly recommend you skip Persona 5 and play Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door instead.

My complaints have been summarized by this reddit user: https://www.reddit.com/r/PS4/comments/7t5b1y/persona_5_is_criminally_overrated/

The battle mechanics are weak: once you stagger a foe, you get another turn, meaning sometimes the game can just run on autopilot. Every battle feels the same. "Oh, but the story is where it's at"

It's not, the writing and characters aren't very strong. We spend hours hearing abt Komoshida's abuse of the volleyball team before the characters even plan to do anything.

I could go on, but in my opinion, Paper Mario has vastly better mechanics and writing, and is satisfying to play. I highly recommend that game and not this one.

this game is too fucking long yet still feels rushed LOL
The world that this game creates is one I now feel extremely close to. I think back to moments in the story with nostalgia, as if they happened in reality. Over the 90 hours it took me to complete the game, I've grown so attached to the cast of characters. The feeling this game gave me is one of pure joy, and it will stick in my memory forever.

The greatest JRPG ever released. BUY. THIS. GAME. 9.8/10
This is truly an exeptional game. You'll spend no less than 70 hours on it, but the feeling of living a different life in a country far far away, with school friends and epic events will haunt you for months after the game is finished.

Persona 5 is the best JRPG of all time. It achieves this by not overloading itself with unecessary mechanics and giving every element of the gameplay enough purpose to not have anything truly obsolete. The social link system and the fixed time-frame of the protagonists day, helps the game pace itself perfectly. The visuals are stunnig and the aesthetic of every piece of UI and other in game graphics are loud and unusual but harmonious, and this can be said about sound design aswell. The whole look and feel has a unique character. The characters are relatable and not too anime. The story, while sometimes predictable for fans of the series, is executed exeptionally and the player never feels lost in the narrative. This makes Persona 5 enjoyable, even if you´re not to much of a anime fan yourself.

Certainly, if you are ready to steal some hearts, Persona 5 is there to take you on a ride.

The very best thing you can add to your game library in 2017.
