Review of Vampire: The Masquerade-Bloodlines Arguably the greatest Romance to a Game I've ever had. As a big Fan of the "World of Darkness" and a general Lover of everything that has to do with Vampires, I couldn't and didn't want to say No to this Game. Neither then nor now. So Read my Opinion on my absolute Favorite game ever. All The information about whether the Game is worth a Purchase is in the Conclusion below. As a Follow-up to the 2000 Vampire: The Masquerade-Redemption, this Game is not only a worthy Sequel, but also one of the best Role-playing games that have come out so far. Even for today's Standards. You read the Aspects that bring me to this Claim in the following Sections. The Story itself is relatively simple, you might think. "Find a Sarcophagus that could usher In walking enna-the End of all Vampires." Even though the Search is a central Aspect, it's the many small Intrigues, Stories, decisions and even your own Character that make up the Appeal of the Story. Likewise, the intelligent and variously written dialogues are, of course, not entirely innocent of this. If you really Take the Time to exhaust all Possibilities, you will be rewarded with a very intense Experience. Which is not least due to Gameplay. Apart from the fact that the Game is an RPG in the Third-person or optional First-person perspective, the Uniqueness of a Clan has never been emphasized as much as here. Each Clan has not only Dedicated dialogue Possibilities, but also specific Disciplines, in other words, specific Abilities for this Bloodline alone. So you can find your perfect Style Of play here, because the Game, away from these Little Things, still leaves a Lot of Freedom in Character creation. Of Course, you should already have a rough Idea here of how you want to play. Because some Clans are better suited to some Tasks than others. However, as a personal Note: Should you want to play the Game for the multiple Ends several times, make at least one Run as a Malcavian. You will not regret it. Even the Graphics still look handsome from today's Point of view. As one of the first Games to use the source engine, it was already an outwardly flawless Game by then. From this point of view, the same can be said about the Sound. Since I have already praised the Dialogue Options in the gameplay part, everything sounds accordingly. I've never heard such authentic Setting. The Same goes for the Soundtrack, as it dynamically adapts to the Game And is easily suitable for any Setting. So do the numerous Nightclubs in the Game. These even always have a licensed Song as a background. Well-known Performers include Chiasm, Genitorturers, Ministry, Darling Violetta and Lacuna Coil. The regular Steam Version Is still full of all The Bugs that were in the release version. Unfortunately, The Game came out quite unfinished. However, it has a fairly active and helpful mod community. I recommend you patch it so you can enjoy it to the fullest extent. As mentioned above, I count this Game among my Favorite Game, despite the fact that it came out so unfinished. Because of the nostalgia bonus, it even surpasses New Vegas here. I also make a Recommendation to all those who know "Vampire: The Masquerade" in the Pen & Paper variant, are sometimes interested in a slightly different Scenario, or are simply looking for a Role-playing game, which deserves its Name.

The world of Vampire the Masquerade is incredible.  It's not hard to get immersed in the lore and the characters, not to mention the quests are actually interesting and keep you interested in the plot.

The downsides are that this game can be incredibly buggy, some patching and modding can fix this though.
