Although I never completed the first game, due to the great difficulty of the "survival" aspect, the universe, the characters and the music captivated me.
In short, I had to play this re-imagined version and, hop!, I pre-ordered Pathologic 2.
So what do we have with this remake? The same damn problems we had with Pathologic 1! *sighs*
The plusses:
- The universe is still as bewitching as ever.
- Its excellent story, full of mystery.
- The characters, always mysterious and endearing.
The neutral:
- The dialogues are always abstract/imaginative and in English, but they are much easier to understand than those of the first Pathologic.
- The graphics are classy, compared to those of the first game, but it's not "Wow! It's so beautiful! "either.
- Pathologic 1 has the three main characters (Daniil, Artemy and Clara) and their scenarios. Pathologic 2 has only Artemy Burakh.
The minus:
- Moving around the city, although faster than in Pathologic 1, is still slow.
- Survival. The f*cking survival. Especially the hunger bar. Damn hunger, you got Artemy by the ass! Seriously, he's never satisfied. Your worst enemy of the game, it's not the time limit (the 12 days), it's not the Sand Plague disease, oh nope, it's HUNGER!
- Fighting. Still as rotten (terrible system) as ever.
- Death and its "punishments". Every time Artemy dies, he gets a penalty at one of his stats. Ok, I get the concept that death is inevitable, that the world of Pathologic is dark and "artistic", but with the insurmountable survival, what's the point?
- Did I ever tell you about survival? Yes. Because of it, you're going to spend all your time trying to keep Artemy alive instead of... I don't know... exploring the city, discovering its mysteries, getting to know the characters, and fighting the f*cking disease, the Sand Plague, as it's his duty as a healer!
- Limited saves. You can only save to certain locations.
- To sum up: Slow moves (walking slow) + rotten (terrible) fighting system + survival (especially hunger) insurmountable + punitive death + limited saves = disaster!
- Speaking of disaster, the game optimization. It crashes and lag on many PCs. On mine, I often get lag "jumps" (the image freezes and unfreezes). Very annoying.
In conclusion, I was more frustrated by this game than anything else. I have nothing against hardcore games, but here I don't recommend it.

Like Achievement Lurker: Respectable Accomplishment, this “game” only exists for the achievements. No story, one lazy world map to explore and lots of useless RPG fights.
I loved this dark and violent VN, which changes from many romantic stories in a Japanese school setting (or in an x-world). The best part is that there is no 100% happy ending. Even if the "good ending" has tragedy. I recommend it without hesitation, but not to put in all hands, because there is violence, r-ape, incest, drugs, blood at will and a good dose of madness.
While the other version of Princess Maker 3 is not recommendable due to its lousy translation, bugs, lag and the fact that it screws up your PC's resolution (at least it was messing with mine!), this HD version is a success.
Better English translation, more readable lettering, no bugs in sight, no lag, can be played in full screen. A game is completed in 3 hours but with the many endings you have hours of play.
One of the video games I consider cult. A good blend between a JRPG, a dungeon crawler, a visual novel with elements of slice of life and dating sims, as well as collectible "monsters", the Personae, ala Pokémon. A story that is still as compelling as ever, even if the game is more than 5 years old. Some endearing characters and, a rare thing for an RPG, there are none that I hate. Usually I always have a character that I like less for x reasons in an RPG, but not here. A game with an excellent durability, with the different difficulty levels, all the Social Links to do, the quests, etc. In my case, taking the Very Easy level, because I wanted to cut the grinding and focus on the story and the Social Links, it took me a good 31 hours to complete the game with the Golden ending and I also did the new bad ending, the Accomplice End. So, if you play at a higher level of difficulty, and you take your time, a complete playthrough can last a good 50 hours. Anyway, Persona 4 Golden is one of my favorite video games that I recommend to everyone. Only one question remains unanswered: when will the other Persona games arrive on PC?

A cute rhythm game with kawaii anime girls. While the DLC seems expensive, it gives you access to all the songs packs and more will be added in the future for free. You also get an EXP Boost. The base game does have 30+ songs, so the price - CDN$ 3.39 for me - is fair. I had a blast playing it and I’ll go back for more. My favorite songs are Breaking Dawn, Disco Night, midstream jam, Bass Telekinesis, Cotton Candy Wonderland, Tsukuyomi, Glimmer, EXIST, Out of Sense, Thirty Million Persona, Irreplaceable and one song by ANK feat kumako (the title is in Chinese).
A short, tragic and kinetic Yuri VN about Sakuya and Remilia. Since I don’t know much about the Touhou universe, I would have loved more details about these characters aka the lore. Even so, I liked my time reading 月夜下的紅茶杯 ~ Blacktea With Moon. If you’re a Yuri / VN fan, go for it!
*In my first playthrough I could get both good ends with Remi and Ryoko.
A simple raising stats sim / dating sim with erotica. The MC is a student and he got 3 months to find a girlfriend and get laid along the way. While the plot seems basic as heck, all the characters are memorable, the events are well written, the romance / sexy stuff is tasteful, the art is nice, and the MIDI music is great. There are some issues with the game, such as a “freeze” every time a new MIDI song must be played, but it’s more tolerable in windowed mode. Crashes could also occur, but it only happens to me in full-screen mode. Despite those hiccups, True Love 95 is a cool retro game. I liked that the MC, while being a pervert, had a heart of gold and would never tolerate disrespect and violence toward the romanceable girls. He would also never “force” them in his bed, unlike other erotica games I had played where the MC would “dominate” the chosen gal. Recommended to retro, dating sims, and erotica fans.

It's not a bad VN, but the english translation is a mess, and I'm stuck at the "raising sim" part. I keep getting Bad Ends.
Not a bad VN per se, but I quickly grow bored while reading it. I guess the story is too realistic, gloomy and depressing for my tastes. I cannot personally recommend it, but since it’s free, you can try it out. Who knows? You might like The Raintime.
A 1-hour (two if you take your time), magical visual novel. While reading it, I felt like I was in a fairy tale with sublime illustrations and a bewitching soundtrack. There are a few darker moments in the story, a total change of tone, but it’s done on purpose. I had a wonderful experience with Mhakna Gramura and Fairy Bell and I recommend it to all VN fans. Also, you don’t need to have read the Fault series to understand the plot.
A VN with a concept I loved, a romantic story where one guy meets a girl with multiple personalities - or is she sharing her body with other souls? It wasn’t clear. - , however, the meh English translation ruin my chance to fully enjoy it. There are many dialogs where I was wondering what was said and some sentence structure were odd. It’s difficult to recommend unless you can read the original version in Chinese. The artwork is good.
The + :
♥ The tale of Alice in Wonderland, in visual novel!
♥ Superb illustrations.
♥ The music is well chosen.
♥ For a story designed with TyranoBuilder, it's well done and personalized in many ways, including the title screen and the image gallery.
The - :
♦ The font chosen, although very stylized, is difficult to read for some letters of the alphabet.
♦ As much as I like the illustrations, I find that the "cute manga" and "some masculine/animal characters humanized as girls" style doesn't fit too well with Alice's universe. (Also, is it just me or is the Queen of Hearts too sexualized, with her big boobs?)
Fun and free arcade-type game where you control a bird. You must collect eggs, one at a time, carry them until they hatch to get a high score while avoiding the foxes.
A free, one long level runner game, where you must survive against an alien monster, while avoiding deadly traps and saving cats.
A cute and free visual novel. There aren’t a lot of choices since most are here to lead you to a Bad End. The skip function, for the next play through, doesn’t always work. The character art is nice and cute. The backgrounds are real photos retouched. The story is nothing groundbreaking, but it’s full of comedic moments and nice character interactions. You can name the MC and choose his/her gender. Nonbinary option available. Recommended.
A gorgeous visual novel with 2 endings, dub for the two main characters, and with a cool concept. Two strangers send letters to each other and love bloom. Later, an agent is investigating about a missing woman. With supernatural elements, and a bit of mystery, you end up with a pretty interesting visual novel, with a different genre that what you usually find on the market. Since most visual novels are inspired by Japanese culture and you usually see the characters. That’s not the case for Dear Devere. Fully free, I recommend it to everyone.
A short visual novel with mini games about the COVID-19. Made in a humorous way but based on true events. I was stuck on one of the mini games (raise money for Italy), but now the PageUP to cheat works for that part. I could complete the game.
An incredible game made in RPG Maker 2003. Everything is customized. The story is a good dose of “WTF”, juvenile humor, and darker themes. Nawara is one bada*s b*tch. The only things I disliked is how the battles works. The enemy attack automatically so you must always spam your attack + heal with items. Also how some places are really “trippy”. The warning about photosensitive epilepsy is right on point. You got a good 3-4 hours of gameplay and the ending scream for a sequel. Recommended for mature audiences.

Narcissu 10th Anniversary Anthology Project is Narcissu 1 and 2 + Himeko's Epilogue. The other stories are in DLCs. Since I loved Narcissu when I read the free version on Steam - one of the best VN I had read in my life - I got the Antholgy Project in a bundle with other VN. Stories that will make you leave a range of emotions. Get your tissues ready. You are gonna need them.
