Atlantis: Pearls of the Deep reviews and comments

Translated by
Microsoft from French
Here you are asked to release pearls. No, I'm not talking about a game in odorama. I'm referring to these little mother-of-Pearl spheres. You run a kind of pliers that moves horizontally at the top of the screen and you have to decide where you are going to drop a bead of color. Gravity, dear to Newton, does the rest. As in any match-3, if you unite at least three colors, the marbles disappear. It should be noted that if they come out of the screen, they are also eliminated without penalty. The game offers two aspects: pre-generated levels (number of 120) and Zen mode. In the first, you will have to achieve three predetermined goals among several possible: eliminate all the balls of the screen, pass the level in a maximum time, recover all the special beads, use only a maximum number of beads or collect all the stars scattered on the Board. In Zen mode, the spheres are not placed. They fall by mass at the launch of the game. Then you have only one goal: to make them all disappear. There are four types of beads. The first three are related to one of the colors. These are the classical spheres, the power-up bonuses (grenades, shots, lightning sources...) and the special beads of the goals. In rare pre-generated levels, there are also rock balls that can not be associated to be destroyed. They serve as mobile barriers. The "+"-simple game to understand. -It may be suitable for a young audience. -Pre-generated levels are good bills, in General. -Unlike the French page of the steam store which introduces Atlantis: pearls of the deep, the French in the game is perfectly rendered (not in the style "Google translation"). -I had no bugs. The "-"-levels of Zen mode are of very low interest and are repetitive. I find them boring soon. Sometimes after the fall of the marbles, there is almost nothing left to destroy. -Despite the uninteresting character of the Zen mode, steam successes/achievements rests on him. The worst is to get 1000 WINS. This is between 25 and 30 hours of bland play! The good news is that there is so little challenge to play them that one can, at the same time, follow the television without being disturbed! -Physics changes when little pearls remain. The latter are then attracted more or less by the others. I think the developers initially wanted to avoid blocking situations. I found it very disturbing to finish some pre-generated levels where one must then attempt to manage erratic behaviors. -Switching from windowed mode to full screen mode requires a restart of the program. -A few points suggest that this match-3 has not been finalized. Two examples: 1) the very limited number of levels with rock balls. They should have been more exploited; 2) the campaign (60 levels) ends with a story that foreshadowed a sequel that never arrives in the following 60 tables. These are not even scriptized. In the end, I stay on a mixed impression. This is a medium game, but the 120 basic levels deserve to be solved. It is for them that I recommend Atlantis: pearls of the deep. Note: game of a bundle purchased.

Atlantis: Pearls of the Deep, is an MP, that is developed by Alder Games and published by Legacy Games. MP - Marble Popper Game Visuals I want to mentioned that the visuals for this game is well done. The visuals can be adjusted in the game's option menu. Game Audio I want to mentioned that the audio for this game is well done even if it is simplistic and somewhat repetitive. The audio can be adjusted in the game's option menu as well. Gameplay There are no game difficulty modes to choose from. But all levels have their own difficulty. This is a marble popper game. It is similar to a match 3 game. The goal for this game is clear the marbles from the level with little moves as possible. All the levels that has objective assigned to them. There is a timer in-game but the time on the timer is generous for most parts. There are hidden object levels in the game as well. The items to find are often repeated throughout the game. There are stars to be earned from playing the game. The stars coins pay out when the level is complete with the objectives has been met. You can still earn star coins if only one or two level objectives has been met. Replaying the levels will improve the amount of stars is earned. You can earn up to three stars. The star coins are used to purchase in-game power ups to use in the marble popper levels. Each power ups require a certain amount of star coins. There seven different power ups to obtain in the game. The power ups help completing the marble popper levels much quicker before the timer runs out. There are fourteen different achievements that can be unlocked from playing the game. Each of these achievements does come with some requirements that needs to be completed before they can be unlocked. Miscellaneous There are six different trading cards to collect. You only get three of those trading cards from the game. There are several ways to get the rest of the trading cards: Purchased from the Steam's Community Market; Trade with friends; Booster Packs and its' Booster Pack Creator. Final thoughts: I do not think that this marble popper game has much of a replay value. If you are into marble popper games. Then you might find this game enjoyable to a certain extent. But do not get the game at full price value. Nice storyline and art. Good relaxing time waster. Some of the levels are a little difficult for what it is and the difficulty does not quite flow up with the levels (it will increase in difficulty slowly, then you will get a ridiculous one, then an easy one) It also has a few problems where the ball/pearl gets stuck in some levels. But is really good over all.
