Bread Bread Breadvolution: Extra Toasty
About
Bread Bread Breadvolution: Extra Toasty is a remake of a jam game made in 9 days for Godot Wild Jam #26
Likewise, Extra Toasty was made in 9 days as a personal challenge.
Extra Toasty improves literally every aspect about the game, including:
- Improved input registration
- Improved charting
- Added hold notes (in the form of Baguettes)
- More settings
- An extra song
- and FUN!
That's right, FUN. I injected RAW FUN into this game, so you better like it. Takes a while to get that stuff, y'know?
ControlsThe default controls are , however you can configure your own controls in the settings menu.
You can skip "game overs" by pressing space, letting you try again quicker than you could otherwise.
Content- 4 playable songs
- 5 levels (two difficulties for one song)
- A chart editor and modding capabilities
- 3 optional challenges per song
- 4 achievements per song
- 1 for beating the song
- 1 for beating the song with the "Blind" challenge enabled
- 1 for beating the song with the "NoMiss" challenge enabled
- 1 for beating the song with the "Perfect" challenge enabled
- Let me stress that these are OPTIONAL, and pretty friggin' tough. Don't be upset you can't full clear the songs.
Pressing a key makes the corresponding button on screen press down, when this happens any overlapping notes (bread, I mean bread. Assume its all bread) will be deleted and you will be given a rating from Eh.. to SWEET, which will determine how many points you earn.
Hitting several consecutive notes will give you a multiplier, which multiplies the score you get.
Conversely, failing to hit a note will give you some TOAST, which also acts as a multiplier, but having too much will end your run.
This system leads to higher highs and lower lows. Someone could fail miserably early and come out with a pretty good score, or someone could choke at the end and end with a miserable score. It's like random crits, but actually good.
