About

Capsized is a fast paced 2D platformer focused on intense action and exploration. As a intrepid space traveler, your ship has crash landed on a mysterious alien planet. You must navigate through the perilous environment and fight off blood-thirsty creatures to save your crewmates and escape with your lives!
Artist Jesse McGibney and programmer Lee Vermeulen create an immersive alien world teeming with bizarre life-forms and strange landscapes presented in a unique hand-drawn art style. Combining control elements of first person shooters and innovative physics based combat, Capsized emphasizes action without giving up the smart problem solving of classic platform games.
Use your jetpack to fly through the alien jungle, and tools such as the Gravity Hook to manipulate your environment to skilfully dodge and defeat attacking enemies. You will be challenged - with platforming, puzzle solving, and deadly skirmishing, often all at the same time!
Key Features:
  • Highly detailed alien environments and creatures, lovingly rendered with high resolution hand-drawn artwork.
  • 12 mission Campaign featuring: massive non-linear environments, diverse objectives and enemies, and exciting comic-style cutscenes.
  • 4 extra Arcade Modes to unlock, including: local Deathmatch and Coop, Survival mode, Time Trials, and Armless fighting.
  • Lethal arsenal of futuristic weapons and gadgets such as: the Gravity Ram, Jetpack, Energy Shield, and Quasar Array
  • Classic First Person Shooter inspired controls, with a focus on skilled movement, creative tactics, and insane action.

Capsized reviews and comments

Very good independent game. I had the opportunity to have it in a humble bundle. Not knowing at all, I took the Pack because the price was very low. I really enjoyed this little game (Yes small, it does not allow hundreds of hours of play but it is very successful). Let's note the possibility of playing in cooperation (which can be useful because I have a little bit of a solo on some levels)

It's pretty and there are fun features (gravity hook, all that all that) and overall it's not a bad game, but besides my personal preferences, it has some flaws. Firstly, it is not fast, we walk slowly, the enemies are much faster than us so we feel all the slower. Then, the level cutting prevents any backtracking to the Metroid that might interest adventurous spirits. And finally, there are Pygmies that walk on the walls and ceiling but not everyone cares apparently.

To the Review. Am a Fan of different Games and like it varied. I once picked out Capsized in order to be able to rate something negative. For me, the Game is a little too cheap. Feeling it a little like Money thrown out. Basically it reminds me of old Gameboygames a la R Type or Metroid, Metroid is still the best Comparison, But Capsized is unfortunately beaten by length. The Design is a little too much in the Direction for me, as if 5th Smeders had painted it out in the Coloring Book. There are certainly People who think this is art, my Breakfast is not. :-)

Very BOF on the form as on the content. Clean graphics, but quickly become confused between monsters and moving sets. It would have deserved to have some clearer borders. The controls are pretty horrible I find, I guess this sensation of floating is wanted but it is absolutely neither intuitive nor fun for a sub. The feeling of the weapons is very average, and the traps that are handed to us are absolutely inevitable so have to start again to know the maps, maps that are actually a little too long at times (cuckoo LVL 11). In short, it is not terrible, there is better elsewhere, thank you goodbye.

Another game completely ruined by its abused difficulty that will scare away the greatest number. And if only the game had a gameplay that will reject the fault only on the player? Well no, the controls are more than risky as well as the shots (by the way, far too many weapons that do us damage). In addition to that, we are throwing traps but... Indigestible! So how can we not blame the game when we have such demanding platform phases with such imprecise gameplay? Too bad, a good universe, phases of fun shoot. It looks pretty much like Rochard for the physics of objects but it's not as intuitive and mastered in the controls. Even in easy, wait for you to drool. In short, a demanding game due to its risky gameplay that makes live a calvary on mobs and traps retords. It's clearly not a game when you come back from work to relax...
