Dark Quest 2 reviews and comments

Early Access Review Take a step back into the good old times where Computers were just in beginning. A time without Smartphones, with simple Consoles like the ATARI 2600. That was the time of Table Games. Sitting together, rolling the dices, playing cards, setting Figures. One Table Game was HERO QUEST. This Game was special, because it was one of the first games that was able to change the Gamefield. You choose one Character, take your dice and go into an adventure. The Characters are different. A Mage, a Dwarf, a Barbarian, an Archer and in following Add Ons more Characters. Each Character has special abilitys to survive the Game. Winning this Game depends very much on Luck. You roll the Dice, you accept the Dice. The Final Goal is to defeat an evil Mage. The way is full of enemys and traps. A long way. Yes, i was speaking of HERO QUEST, but this is also DARK QUEST 2. And no, i don`t think it is a stolen idea, for me it is a homage, a tribute to an old game. Many Years ago there was a homecomputer Version i liked very much, but that was in the 80`s. From that time on i was waiting for a new version and i found it in DARK QUEST 1. It was in 2D, not like the AMIGA Version, but now with DARK QUEST 2 i reached what i was searching for. DARK QUEST 2 has it all. Good Graphics in Old School Style, an atmospheric Soundtrack and a nice Gameplay. For me its a little bit like coming home, after all the years. Thank you very much Brain Seal LTD. :) This Game is Early Access and many areas on the Castlemap are Locked, because they are not ready. Not all Characters are playable but 5 are. The Developer brought in fresh ideas like a City with some Shops. You can buy items and potions there, which are essential for your goings in the Castle. You can also use special Bottles that can be found on adventering to raise the abilitys and skills of your Characters. And this is the point that makes this game fair and not inbalanced. The more you raise you Skills and abillitys the better you survive. I didn`t found a map that is unfair, all can be done with the right preparation and plannings. For example momently i`m using 3 Characters. The Barbarian for Fighting/Tanking, the Dwarf for finding and disarming Traps and the Knight for healing. It really goes well for me. BUT NEVER FORGET, like rolling a dice on the Table Game, here the Rollings depends on LUCK. You can have good ones and have a fine run in a room full of monsters or you can have a bad run and loose. It`s a fair game and in the beginning it may be a little bit difficult to reach higher Maps, but learn the specializing of the Characters, choose your Favourites, rise them, give them Weapons and Potions and you will success. I hope in the Future some of my Friendlist will get this game, too, because of a nice Multiplayer Game. For now i`m excited to see whats coming in the future and the Developer did very much in the last Time to continue finishing this game. So if you like good old Table Games, you`re in.
