About

Democracy 3 is a government simulation video game developed by Positech Games in 2013. This is a sequel of Democracy which was released in 2005.

Plot

The player’s goal is to create a democratic government while performing as a president or a prime minister. For the sake of it, he can implement and develop tax, economy, foreign and other policies, which affects the society. Smart policies can attract future voters and help win the elections. The player should also deal with appearing problems such as homelessness, strike actions, and crises.

Gameplay

The player can choose the nation to play for. Then his first aim is to win the elections; it includes building a strong campaign, winning the factions support, making up the electorate, and hold power in the government. New events and dilemmas keep happening during the game, so the player should also be able to refocus and deal with a situation; otherwise, an event might have ongoing consequences.

Key features

The player can change the flyers to change the amount of funding, regulate taxes or laws of a particular area. It is important to balance the government budget through the whole game as to change policies; one should spend political capital held by ministers. Each political decision requires funding and has its aftereffects. There are 21 electorate groups, and as the player makes political decisions, each group changes its attitude towards him.

It takes a special kind of dull leadership technique to energize as few of the electorate as you do. Congratulations on driving apathy to record levels!

A wise man once said that society can never have enough people in uniform carrying guns. And it looks like you took those words very seriously indeed.

Few leaders have that special ability to be all things to all people, but somehow you have pulled off the trick of being popular with almost everyone. Nice work!

Other countries may look at narcotics as a threat, but congratulations you have seen them for what they are...a very lucrative source of government income.

Democracy 3 is an interesting Policy Simulation in which one's own Decisions have multifaceted political, economic and social Consequences. You start as a newly elected President in one of six Countries and spend the first 1-2 Hours Clicking your way through the sizeable Menus, playing around with Sliders and thus providing an Overview of the many different Laws, Environmental Influences and To win over groups of Voters, all of which are interrelated and influencing each other. You can then change these Laws in their Extent or scrap them altogether or enact new Laws. For all this, you need political Capital, which is generated every Quarter by your own Ministers, who in turn can be replaced with political Capital. The Ministers have all their own Profiles, but still hardly any Personality. Own Language Sequences would have done well at this Point. Nevertheless, all Descriptions and Explanations are humorous and absolutely worth reading, even if some are in English. The Direction in which you steer your Country is completely up to you and that is also the biggest Criticism: The game is far too simple. Even a hard-hitting Dictatorship Can usually be enforced without major Problems. You have to provoke it not to win at the next Election or fall victim to an Assassination Attempt. The State Budget is consistently positive, even if you fund education, Health and other Infrastructure with the Maximum Sum, something that in Reality only works if you sit on a Sea of Oil. If you no longer Feel like the current Course, you can also put down a complete 180-Degree turn. What Angela Merkel needs a single Sentence for, after all, needs half a Parliamentary Term here. So After I led Germany into a n̶̶a̶̶t̶̶i̶̶o̶̶n̶̶a̶̶l̶-sozialistisches Paradise, turned England into a fundamentalist Peasant State, recreated the Revolution in France, left the US in a capitalist Military State, Residents of Australia had made all Drugs palatable and made Canada the most popular Country of all, there was no longer anything for me to really do, especially since some of the Achievements are bugged. I can recommend this Game to anyone interested in Politics, but you should be aware of the Scope and level of Difficulty. Democracy 3 gets 55/100 or 6/10 Points from me.

This game is pretty nifty. A real awesome puzzle with a lot of variables. Only downside is that the controls arent adapted for usage on a tablet (e.g. scrolling trough lists) and there are some minor bugs (e.g. everyone in the focus group has exactly the same name). But these are minor flaws, in total this game is a real brain teaser and a lot of fun.

a particular and engaging video game, but not suitable for everyone. All you have to do is change the parameters and wait for the calculations to be re-run to see if your government can continue. Some may find it boring, so others may be interested in it. There is also a lot to read. The problem that technically bad: the app consumes a quantity of absurd battery and the interface was badly adapted by the computer version (you can't even shake with your finger: you have to drag the cursor to do it).

Very good game. Intuitive with a fairly complete tutorial. The game goes very far in the simulation, and has a very wide field of governance. On the other hand some economic mechanisms are a little weird, and missing. For example, the inflation rates are not counted or the monetary sovereignty that does not come into play, we can not regulate its monetary mass and play on exchange rates. Other pb, language, it takes a level higher or lower to play well. Update ! And pity we can not continue our game when we lose the elections as an opposition. Otherwise at the top! We are still waiting for a French version! To maximize the use of the game. Even with a suitable level has sometimes remains tedious to read long descriptions ...

I bought this game a while ago, both on Steam and on the iPad. I also had a lot of fun with it. Now the extensions are finally available on the iPad, which makes me very happy. I also think it's very nice how you screwed the game down to 4.99 because so many people have complained (not including me), Bravo! Blo unfortunately I bought this game for 14.99, and yes, I know, now it can not change now but it makes me feel like a veteran of the game somehow left behind. This does not change the game itself, so you have 5 stars here and a big thank you for this game! Also the extensions are very good from what I've heard / seen, but at the moment I'm not able to buy them.
