Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot reviews and comments

It starts off good with the classic music, nice cutscenes and a solid Raditz fight. Then you play a few hours, and it starts to fall apart. In a series so full of iconic moves and panels that were already turned into attacks in other games, they give you mostly generic 2-3 hit rush moves. You fly around the world and it starts out nostalgic and comfy, until you realize the world is just buffer so you're not going throught the story in 5 hours. None of the side content matters, side quests are funny enough but mostly just useless fetch quests. Entire mechanics like the community board are absolutely useless, enemies start spamming moves that give them super armor to the point where you can't even stagger them after blocking. While the cutscenes are gorgeous, many iconic moments get completely left out
cool fights, Toriyama art, lots of boring dialogue

«Sit back and relax»
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot truly is a game made for DBZ fans but it can only really be recommended to DBZ fans. With repetitive combat, uninspired fetch quests and long, constant cut scenes newcomers to the beloved franchise are going to struggle to find the fun. If you are interested in experiencing the tale as old as time I urge you to watch the anime or read the manga. Only after that will you get anything out of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot.
A nice throwback to dbz’s classic story
