I Am Alive is an action game with survival elements set in the post-apocalyptic environment. You take on the role of Adam, who lost his wife and daughter during the earthquake in Chicago. Almost a year after the accident he starts looking for them around the semi-destroyed city.

Like many survival games, I Am Alive includes resource management, crafting and fighting with other survivors over the loot. The unique parameter you need to take into account is Adam’s stamina: every action reduces his powers. The game provides an extensive combat system that features several weapon types and protection items along with the ability to frighten some enemies and to avoid the confrontation. All weapons you get at certain story points or completing special side quests.

The gameplay combines the survival aspect with constant fights and the necessity to explore every piece of locations in order to find useful items. As a result, I Am Alive receives the features of a tactical action genre that expand the gaming experience you get.

They just gave this game away free on xbox Gold. IMO whoever designed the fighting aspect of this game should be banned from working on video games forever! It looks good the story line is compelling but the fighting just ruins it for me.

I Am Alive reviews and comments

It's important to know that the game was released literally unfinished, it's because Ubisoft hand this game over another game studio, which (I guess) released the game in condition the original developers left this game shortly before Ubisoft took it from them.

It expains everything that can be wrong in this game, especially it explains very well why the "ending" of this game is so dull; the game just ends in halfway of story, leaving a player with accidental cliffhanger that doesn't explain ANYTHING, in moment when player expects a climax of story. And protagonist doesn't even searched for his family in game (only in first 30 minutes) and whole game he's helping another family which he knows only a couple of days!

But atmosphere and parkour mechanic is great. It's frightening to climb on skyscraper and other tall buildings because you have limited stamina and you need to take a break or you may fall to death. Whole concept of lethal dust is pretty cool.

Combat mechanic is kind of realistic, people are scared when you point a gun on them, though if you don't shoot for too long, they can realise you don't have ammo. It's very cool concept I wish the game did better than it have right now. Combat becomes very monotonous after half of game as there is always one tactic for all battles. And when you get a bow with one arrow, which can be used infinitely, you don't longer worry about ammo until the end.

The game is trying to create an illusion of scarce resources, but very quickly you will get a lot of items restoring health and stamina and you just stop caring for them

I Am Alive had a lot of potential which was ruined by Ubisoft, and it's very sad, as I liked this game on first walkthrough. It's better watch the game on youtube instead of playing it if you want to try it, because of game's unfinished status.

Eternal looking for Food Ehr for people with a duncated and logical think quite passable story but long since you have to collect things here and there in order to satisfy all the sacrifices at all, all if you are looking at the deformed person quite at the beginning you get a Small fun thing in the big and whole post-apocalypse halt.

A really great Game with Ups and Downs. I love the Post-apocalyptic Atmosphere, it goes down extremely well, as well as the Climbing Opportunities & fight Scenes with limited Ammunition, just beautifully inoculated and super Represented. That's how I imagine a storyline survival game. The Story only confuses a little, but after a While it fascinates more and more and I have to say personally, I fully enjoyed the Game from the Beginning, until the End. A clear Buy recommendation for all Survival fans!

Grim Climbing adventures at sometimes dizzying Heights coupled with brutal Combat Facilities and Missions in a small "free" World that fortunately turns out to be relatively linear on closer inspection. Since neither the triggering "Event" nor its more specific Circumstances are explained and the Main Actor "his" goal is not achieved, I hope for a second Part, which I will certainly also gain again. This can then take a little longer than 8 Hours and, above all, put a decent Spit on it graphically. 3 out of 5 Mace stars

This Game has so much Potential-Unfathomable Even If the Game comes across "not finished" the Approaches are really awesome as well as the Atmosphere in the Game, which is breathtaking. Did I really Wish that they would have taken it more seriously in the Development and made this Game the great Game that it could have been. So all that remains is to say that buying in the Sale is worthwhile. Whos Bugs and Mistakes in the Game are unforgivable can leave the fingers off it and save themselves the bad Criticism. But if you dare or look for something completely new, you will be pleasantly surprised!

First it captivates, then it just annoys .. The Story sounds good, it starts quite nice and you learn one or the other to Control ... And then it's always just that itself, the same Climbing Stories (find the climbing hook so you can rest hanging in the Wall), the same Fights (press E if it's close enough, then shoot the creak with the One Cartridge just found , threaten the 3rd without Ammunition and push it down somewhere) ... And most annoying: One has made a Mistake and somehow got through to the next Memory Point, then You can start the Stuff from somewhere in front or continue playing with hardly any Stamina and missing Equip. Sorry, but for me this is also for a low-price game too few ps: And the Camera control I find mostly cruel ps2: You notice the Console Game
