About

Marie's Room is a short-story exploration game about an unconventional friendship between two classmates, told through memories. You play as Kelsey, remembering Marie's room as it was 20 years ago. What happened to Marie and Kelsey all those years ago?
“It was supposed to be simple. Get in, get out. I should have known better.”
Kelsey arrives in a seemingly empty room. She has only one goal, one purpose there -- getting Marie’s journal. But the room is not empty at all. In fact, it’s filled to the brim with memories, memories from 20 years ago, some of them which Kelsey would rather forget. Some of them, she cherishes to this day.
Join Kelsey in her trip down memory lane and uncover Marie and Kelsey’s past by exploring Marie’s room as it was all those years ago, or at least, how Kelsey remembers it.
Explore their stories, linked to every object in the room. Open drawers and search Marie’s laptop for clues. Find out what secrets the room holds.
“She once asked me, you know: ‘Don't you ever dream, Kelsey?’ And I said I don't. I don't dream, I plan. What I didn't tell her, was that I would not allow anyone to mess with those plans.”

Marie's Room reviews and comments

If you enjoyed Gone Home, I'd say this has the same core engagement. You piece together a short narrative from environmental clues, but I don't think there's enough space for the game to play with expectations or shift your understanding of characters. It just offers a straight A to B, lost to understood through-line that, while done well enough, doesn't leave me with much at the end of the day.

Marie's Room has a similar Demeanour to Life is Strange (sorry, I really didn't think of a better Comparison). It's a short Game, with Story & many Opportunities for Interaction. The Achievements are also super easy to play. My only Criticisms are the Length of the Game as it is really very, very short & that some Lyrics are kept extremely long. Fortunately, you can skip a lot of them, which, by the way, is unrelevant to the Achievements. Unfortunately, the Controller Support only works out semi-well. Interacting works, but in the Diary you can't flip Pages or rotate interacted Objects, for example.

Marie's room-a really nice, dramatic Storyplay, which is somewhat reminiscent of Life is Strange. Absolutely recommended For a free Game! At least if you don't mind reading to listen to text. The Graphics are also made really nice. We stay in a Room most Of the time, and we have to look for clues about certain Occurrences. Little by Bit, it becomes clear what happened. Game Time is about an Hour, Content really exciting. You really want to know how it goes on and on. Time Travel into a complicated Youth In the exploratory adventure of the Belgian Developer studio "like Charlie," we explore the Room of the titular Marie From the Perspective of her School Friend Kelsey. The two, however, do not have a very simple Relationship with each other-why this is so and what drastic Incidents occurred in their youth together, it is important to find out in the approximately one-hour experience. To do this, we browse the detailed Youth Room of Marie, solve a little Puzzle here and there, and put together the events in our Friend's Diary, which continues to fill the Way with the Exploratory progress. At the same time, the Story takes on some surprising, serious Traits-only the Leap to the End is quite big and leaves a lot open. Nevertheless, Marie's Room is always worth a Recommendation for Story fans, because at least I quickly captivated the Story and didn't let go until the End. Atmospheric and playful, the Adventure is reminiscent of the first two Life is Strange games in many Facets. The stylish Look, The Coming of Age setting, the professional Setting and the excellent indie soundtrack don't miss their Effect and create an intense Mood. Conclusion Storyfans and Lovers of Setting offers Marie's Room a short but very atmospheric Exploration Experience. And for free! Rating 78
