About

Developers Note: Masochisia is an experimental take on psychological horror games as a narrative. Individuals struggling with depression, abuse or mental illness may be uncomfortable with some of the themes. The experience is intended for mature audiences.4f 42 45 59 20 4d 45

No one ever really understands you...

...do they?

"Extensive psychological abnormalities with a genetic predisposition to sadomasochistic tendencies."54 52 55 53 54 20 4d 45

But-- that's not the question, the question is what are you going to do about it? Yes, you're crazy. But so was your Father, your Mother, your Brother. So, if we're being honest with each other, we can't say we're all that surprised are we? The visual hallucinations, the aural terrors, the sensory overloads… more daily routine for you than a burden! If anything, you seem to be almost thriving- in your own peculiar way...46 4f 4c 4c 4f 57 20 4d 45

Masochisia reviews and comments

This game has everything - from a great story and nice graphics to unsuspected events. It actually surprised me in a good way. It could have been slightly longer, but I'm not sure, that would have improved anything. It's just a really good game about a really disturbing story, that makes you lose control now and then, doesn't give you the security of being able to defend yourself against anything happening around you and leaves you very unsure of what has been real and what wasn't. Loved "Masochisia"!

adds another game to the list of my favorites. really well written. one tiny little complaint: not really a story-spoiler, but its .. something, ill just black it out. when the angel says "its just begun", i got really excited, and then it just ends. i dont really mind, i liked the ending, but still, i thought maybe there was more ... all in all: i dont give a x/10 score, i can just say whether i a) liked b) disliked c) really enjoyed or d) hated a a game, and masochisia falls into c, definetly. really good, really dark, perfect for me.

I'm really not a Friend of Jumpscares and this Game had one in pretty much every Chapter. The Navigation to the various Locations was a little annoying and cluttered, but to cope. As for the horror factor ... I have to admit that I expected something different, but didn't necessarily mean negative. Some Scenes are really disturbing, not only because of the Representation and the Atmosphere, but really because of the Nature of the Scene itself ... But I don't want to give Spoilers here. As a positive, I have to take it into account that it really conveys an interesting View from the Head of a mentally ill Person. Even the different Characters that make up the Protagonist's Being as a whole-each in a different Way, give an interesting Look at the Whole. Also commendable are certain Interactions with the Player to Chapter 3 and at the End of the Game that break through the famous fourth Wall-on very interesting (and possibly eerie?) manner. I have not yet received an interaction in this one special Way in any other Game, which in Retrospect almost justifies the Purchase completely for Me, in order to have made this Experience possible for me once. It took me 2 Hours for the full Game, but I'm also quicker to deal with. I had to restart the 3rd Chapter because of a Bug and have run myself in the Forest a few Times, so it is certainly feasible in 1.5 Hours. Definitely worth buying in the Sale if you're interested in psychologically sound horror (with Jumpscare). Otherwise, due to the short Duration of play at the normal Price, only to be recommended to a limited extent.
