About

Milkmaid of the Milky Way is a 90s style point-and-click adventure game with puzzles, exploration and an exciting story, written completely in rhyme!
Deep in a fjord, a girl and her bovine,
Western Norway, nineteen-twenty-nine.
This is a story from Calf Ledge,
a farm perched on a mountain edge.
It's 1920's Norway, and you play as Ruth, a young woman who lives alone on a remote farm at the end of a faraway fjord. You take care of your cows and make delicious dairy products that your friend sells in the closest town. But the dairy business is not going so well, and life on the farm is lonesome and hard. And at nights mysterious things keep happening to Ruth and her cows, making Ruth wonder: Is this the life she wants?
Then one day a giant, golden ship descends from the sky, forcing Ruth out on a journey that will change her life.
Milkmaid of the Milky Way is a story about moving into the unknown, breaking free from the past, it's a story about age, life, death and time - but most of all it's a story about finding your own place in the universe.FeaturesA lovingly crafted universe with hand-painted backgrounds combined with old school pixel art

Very nice game with a good story (for now, I have not finished), but I remove a star for the animation of the characters, which I find too pixelated and coarse (even if it is wanted, I do not like 😊) and the errors that remains in the text (words missing, "black tasks" instead of "black spots", "color" instead of "corridor", "transfer" instead of "transfers", "left us" instead of "left us", "you returned" instead of "you gave us"...). Yes, I am demanding, but for a game at this price, a second reading of the texts would not have been luxury 😉

Whilst having a cold In searched and did find A fairy tale game that just blew my mind! A game so uplifting, I never did see Designed to specifically satisfy me The lead role a strong and by young maid A rare thing to come across I'm afraid The music is pretty as winter is long Where people, prog and space spins a wonderful song The challenges though they a Re met with ease Are still an experience eager to please So rarely a game can exalt me this way So great job, Machineboy, I'll have to say! Catch Cold and throught I was looking and found – at first I thought the buttoned enough that this was true: a bright and pleasant adventure game Designed just like I want! As A main person an independent, strong woman, How often among games is this to be found? The Music is beautiful as the night is long Where people, prog and space give wonderful timbre. The Challenges are completely customizable light But enough for the experience to satiate Seldom that games make me excited and happy Machine Boy, this made you good!

... is good puzzle design. This game has great graphics, sound and programming, but the puzzles are very disappointing. Instead of "aha" moments the Lucasfilm classics got so right, we either get puzzles which are obvious and far too easy (you basically just apply the only thing you have anyway to the only spot available, duh), or puzzle solutions you just stumble on accidentally, or puzzles which feel too hard with no proper logical solution. There's also story inconsistencies where proper solutions are blocked (spoiler: for instance, when you've put the queen to sleep via the air vent and she's in "deep slumber", then go back to her door to use the power drill, it won't work because "the queen could see me" ... huh?). Sad, because this could have had the potential for a future classic! Now we'll have to wait for Thimbleweed Park. I hope the creator of this adventure, who must be very brilliant because he created all this by himself, will walk on the road to study puzzle design and what causes those "aha" moments, where one feels the rushing joy of having that great idea that might work , to try it, to then see it was right indeed! Good luck.
