Not Guitar Hero

Intro

NotGuitarHero is a simple innocent game made with

Game-Editor, a game engine established in 2002.

We are on our way of creating a 2022 successor to this

game engine, check it out: www.game-editor2.com :)

This game is a lot like guitar hero, except that it isn't guitar hero..

Anyway, you load some music and you play it. That's it.

You have to be quick, precise and focused, otherwise

your guitar might sound terrible.

Learning how to predict the next note will give you additional points.

Controls

Move mouse to aim at notes (colored depending on pitch)

Left click or tap space while aiming at a note to play it.

Ctrl+Enter to reset

P or ESC to open song library

P or ESC again to close song library

Up/Down arrows or mouse to navigate through the library

Left click or Enter to select a song from the library

The game can load music represented by a 24 bit BMP.

Yes, you can draw it in paint, but the BMP must be exactly 200x200px

the hue defines the pitch, the saturation defines the velocity

and the value defines the octave (currently 3 octaves are supported,

+1 and -1 from middle C octave).

Alternatively, you can load a MIDI (.mid) file.

The mid parser I use is kinda bugy so it might not work for just about

all .mids but it works fine, if exported through FL Studio.

To load a sound, write it down on a new line in library.txt

The extension is optional. (24 bit 200x200 .bmp supported

and some .mid) AFAIR, you can load up to 8 songs or something.

I wanted to keep it simple. And be gentle with the poor game engine.

Maybe if some good fella is able to financially help us in our endeavours,

we can purchase a musescore subscription and obtain much more pieces to

include in the game as presets. If you are that person I would

rather recommend you to invest in our other more serious projects,

but if you for some reason like this one, we'll take it.

A difficulty system might also be a good idea for some future update.
