Shadwen
About
Shadwen is a 3rd person stealth-action game where the only rule is to remain unseen. Stay hidden - or the ruthless guards will kill you on sight!
Shadwen, an assassin on a quest to kill the king, has a chance encounter with an orphaned girl, Lily. She follows Shadwen on her dangerous journey, but when the ruthless guards get too close, Shadwen must take action right in front of Lily's eyes.
Will Shadwen risk the girl's budding trust by resorting to violence, or try and find another way while keeping her real purpose concealed?
To kill or not to kill - that is the question.FEATURES

- MOVE FREELY - Sneak and explore around the dark and gritty medieval province and use the environment to your advantage - use your rope to grapple onto rooftops, silently drop from ceilings, or veil yourself in the shadows.
- STAY HIDDEN - Pick your assassinations carefully. Avoid being seen, heard or getting caught indirectly. Suspicious sights and noises will alert the guards - use it to your benefit.
- TIME IS AN ACCOMPLICE - Time stands still when you are not moving Shadwen, allowing you to stop at any point mid-motion. Rewind time to manipulate your past and present actions!
- USE PHYSICS - Use physics and a freely attachable rope to drag and topple objects. Make deaths look accidental; let gravity do the grave work.
- CREATE TRAPS AND HAZARDS - set up traps and hazards to lure guards towards their untimely demise; discover new ways to eliminate or distract your foes by crafting items into deadly surprises, including poison traps, spike devices, decoy toys and more.
- TWO CHARACTERS - Embrace the darkness with Shadwen and her abilities to protect Lily and create a safe passage for her.

First of All: Who is unsure. There's a Demo on Steam.
A nice little Stealthgame that certainly deserves a better Rating.
-Personal Highlight for me was the Timefreeze if you don't move. Since I'm not that Platformer, that was very accommodating to me. Rewind time goes too.
-The Idea of Crafting remains a bit pale.
-Nice to be able to play through the Game without a single Kill.
-Depending on the Way of Playing, there are other Endings-Play time with relatively comfortable Play about 8 Hours.

So far a very interesting Mixture of Stealthgame á la "Thief" and TimeFreeze feature, which is very reminiscent of the Backcoil function from Prince of Persia. But it definitely takes getting used to and takes a bit of Time to get familiar with this new Gameplay. After that, however, really maneuvers can be started.
If you want to take a Look at the Game, I'll start a Let's Play on my Channel By addressing the individual Feautres and the Facets of the Game. I also link the first Episode directly here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4R826x2HHEM

An incredibly boring Game!
After 100 Minutes of Play, it's official: Don't go any more boring. Yes, the Graphics are quite nice, so is the Atmosphere, but the Gameplay doesn't work at all. I wanted to try This "Clone" completely thrilled by the Thief series. Except sneaking around and being careful not to get caught Sneaking, nothing happens! No Puzzles to solve, no objects to look for, no story to follow. Every now and then you can do a Guard instead of sneaking it around, even with a self-built bomb or similar. But that was already the Topic of "variety." Yawn...

This is a not really good, but also not circumstinguished bad Steath/Sneak game In the Game you have to clear the Way for a Little Girl to get on unseen!
The Protagonist tries unseen to distract the Guards with objects that he can pull around with the Grabblinghook.
You can also swing with the Grabblinghook, which is not too easy, because the Hup function of the Game is that it only lets the Time run when you move (W or a Button).
Now you can Think that this makes it a lot easier and also the possibility to spit back, but there is a challenge that Mn can face, as Lilli turns the Girl away from you (and also the other End) she sees only 1 Corpse sobbles!
Add to that the opponents are talking so fast with the Arrovust that there is no dodging sobalt you have been seen!
I found it was a nice little Steathgame, but it can drive an aich on the Palm Tree!
It's fun at all times and when mans fetch in the Sale you make you crazy!
Graphics: 3/5. Nothing to write home about, but not ugly.
Story: 1/5. Pretty no story at all.
Gameplay: 4/5. Stealth is great. The ability to stop or rewind time adds to it.
So it's a pretty solid stealth game, not a masterpiece, but still a decent thing.
It effectively combines stealth, escort and time control aspects of gameplay and I love it. Lily, the girl you escort, has a sanity meter which will affect the ending of the game. It will drop if she sees a dead body or see you killing someone. I find this mechanic pretty innovative, though there are some bugs/oddities, like if Lily hides in the same place where the dead body is hidden, the sanity meter won't drop (i.e. she won't see a corpse while hiding in the same bush).
This is not a very difficult game to me, and the difficulty settings affect only the number of highlighted objects on the level. Regardless of difficulty, you die in one hit. So the objective of Shadwen is not to be spotted.
It surely can't compare with Dishonored, but it is still a decent stealth game. The fact that it is an indie one makes it even better.

«Underrated»
NPCs are dumb. Their actions are very repetitive, so you'll get bored soon. Lily, your damsel in distress, is not the brightest mind either. Only two types of enemies (basically one, you just can't backstab the guys with heavy armor).
Still it might help you pass a few hours. It's relatively long, and it's cheap. So why not?
A pure stealth experience where you can rewind and stop time. You have to escort a girl through the game and a non-lethal playthrough is really challenging. However, you can kill everybody in your path, then it will be fairly easy.
The story is mildly interesting, it has multiple endings depending on killing or sparing the king, lethal or non-lethal run.
There was a demo version on the web earlier, not sure if you can find it now to try it for free. It had some glitches that were eliminated in the game, but still it is a good way to understand the meat of Shadwen and to decide whether to play it or not.
In general, I strongly recommend this game, it is a rare and very enjoyable indie title.
