The two jello jelly creatures Bismo and Plom got connected in a tragic yet funny accident and thus can exchange their size and abilities at will. Welcome to the world of Shift Happens - the only game out there which doesn't take a closer look at the body mass index and where players are actually forced to work togehter (and occasionally stab each other in the back).
Experience thrilling adventures in four totally different worlds:
Explore a freaked out laboratory where Bismo and Plom had their accident!
Uncover the secrets of the overgrown green forests...
... and survive the dry canyons where a deadly wind awaits you...
... just to prepare you for the bitingly cold caves!
The twist: Shift Happens is pure fun for solo players, yet its full potential can only be experienced together. Play it with your best friend while hanging around on a couch enjoying a pizza. Together you can solve puzzles and fight over precious coins. Coordination and communication are key to a successful journey. We recommend using gamepads for maximum enjoyability™.
The game also features a singleplayer mode with different level content. Although the game is primarily meant to be played by two people, you can play the completely different singleplayer levels without another person.
The game features all the good things you should expect from a co-op platformer:
Over 40 levels of handcrafted fun
Local and online co-op gameplay
Extra challenges/rewards in the levels for completionists and explorers
More than 30 different levels designed for the singleplayer mode
8 unlockable bonuslevels (4 single- & 4 multiplayer)
And timechallenges for each level

Shift Happens reviews and comments

Amazing 2P puzzle game, hope to get more games like it

One of the most creative Credits in Games (besides Rayman Legends) Introduction Shift Happens is one thing above all else: No Game for Loners. In SH you play two flubber-like Characters called Plom and ... The others. These two wretchy Wonders merge in a strange Way due to a tragic Accident. Where before then everyone could change their Shape whenever, they are now dependent on each other. If one is large, the other must be necessarily small. But striving for the Desire for Individualism and Independence, the colour-unequal Couple also embark on a Journey through the Laboratories of Aperture Sciene similarly structured Climes. Playwheat/gameplay Shift Happens plays like a Platformer With 2D view. So you control (with XBox One controllers, of course) your Pudding Staff, let it bounce, grab (Push boxes) and transform. What sounds like three rather simple Actions turns out, thanks to good Puzzles, to a complex System. Here, Klonk, As a Studio, does a lot of things right. The Puzzles are always fresh for the Level and above all new, as they also get the last Bit of ideas out of This simple Game mechanics. There wasn't a Moment I already knew how a Mystery went out, nor did the Game feel kind of repetitive. There were some Elements that were repeated, but they dovetailed well into the Level, so they never seemed disruptive. Unfortunately, the Flow of Games in my Online games with my Colleague Suffered especially in the last Level. Whether the Game, or the Internet Line, is responsible For this to colleagues, I could not determine directly. Other Games have not been so game-influencing. Music/Graphic The Game is not a cinematic Masterpiece, but makes good use of the Portal and Mirrors Edge color Palette. I liked the Levels that play "outside" all the better if you were previously surrounded only by clinically white Walls. I would have liked a little more variety Of Colours at the Grotto compared to the previous "Worlds." Verdict For a Co-op game, Shift Happens does a lot of Things right. If you have a good friend, then you can have 1 to 2 beautiful Hours every Night by throwing each other in the Lava, misdenying each other and dying together, or despite all The inability to find a secret room full Of Bonus points. There were really Moments where we laughed, but unfortunately also which ones, where we were annoyed, because of this Latency Matter. For Solo Players I would not recommend it, for everyone else you get a solid Thought Pleasure Of about 8 Hours. That's definitely worth the £15.
