About

The game takes place in Japan during the Edo period (early 17th century).

The new shogun united Japan after many years of war, but a conspiracy arises against him, the leader of which is hiding under the name Kage-sama. The shogun orders the samurai Mugen to find out who Kage-sama really is.

Mugen is unable to carry out the mission covertly, this leads to an open rebellion by the conspirators against the shogun ...

Gameplay

Shadow Tactics is a real-time tactics video game.

Basically, the player, as far as possible, quietly removes the guards and hides their corpses, secretly moves past the guards. The player has five characters that are not always involved at the same time.

Characters

Hayato - ninja, can kill opponents at a distance with shuriken and distract them by throwing stones. Dragging corpses on the shoulder. Armed with ninja sword.

Yuki is a young thief, can set traps, and also lure guards, playing the flute. Armed with a dagger.

Mugen - a samurai, can lure the guards with a bottle of sake and kill several opponents at once. He is also the only one who can defeat enemy samurai in a direct clash. Can carry two corpses at once, moving at the same time with run. Armed with katana.

Aiko is a spy who, if she has the right clothes, can change into a peaceful resident to merge with enemies and distract the guards by talking. It has sneezing powder, reducing the visibility area of the guards for a short time. Carries corpses on the ground. Armed with a hairpin.

Takuma is an elderly sniper, can still throw grenades (both explosive and with a paralyzing gas), his tamed raccoon dog named Kuma can distract opponents.

Opponents

are armed with guns and are divided into three types:

Simple guards are the least disciplined guards who can be easily distracted or trapped.

Straw hats are more disciplined, will not leave their post without obvious need, they are not deceived by such tricks as Yuki pipe or a bottle of Mugen sake.

Samurais are heavily armored opponents, for their elimination Mugen is needed or the command actions of other characters.

Others

In addition to security, there are civilians on the map who are not aggressive towards the player’s characters, but are often hostile and if they see them, they are reported to the guards. But sometimes there are civilians who will not report to the oppressive guards about the characters.

In many missions, there are special conditions - such as snow (tracks on the snow attract the attention of the guards), or night (at night the guards see worse, but more vigilant).

Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun reviews and comments

Translated by
Microsoft from Deutsch
Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun Developers: Mimimi Productions Publisher: Daedalic Entertainment An interesting and very beautiful Strategy game from a Bird's Eye view, but don't take it lightly. It's a heavy Game, associated with hundreds of "Try & Error." But thanks to Quicksave and Quickload actually very pleasant. At the top of the middle you will always see when you last Saved ... Very horny, if you forget it then something makes the wrong thing and fails. Then you don't have to start that far from behind. (For example, I initially saved after each successful Kill + Corpse hidden. Manual Storage is also possible, so I have taken one or the other Success quickly) For the Successes, however, the whole thing is a real nerve-shattering marathon. Often I sat on a Mission for several Hours to get all The Badges. But the Speedruns are bad, that is, the Missions have to be completed in a certain Time-how does it matter, the Main thing is achieved. Without all the Videos on Youtube, I would never have been able to do that, honestly. Oh and if only 1 Character dies in the Mission, the Mission has failed and does not engage you in open Combat with those ... The first Mission is still quite simple and is more of a Tutorial Mission. But already in the 2nd it gets tricky at first. The Story is rather uninteresting and somehow it didn't grab me at all. It's mainly about the Game here. We have a total of 5 different Characters, each with different Abilities and you only have all 5 together in ONE (1) Mission. Otherwise, you either only have 2.3 or in a few Missions 4. For example, the Grandpa Cannot climb Tendrils, haul corpses and also not into the Water, but can switch off distant Targets with his Rifle or lure opponents away with his animal. Yuki, for example, is nimble, can climb and has an Enterhook, but drags the Corpses very slowly. Mugen is/was the Best for me. He can knock out many Opponents in one Area (Skill) and even haul 2 CORPSES AND even run with it! But for that he can't climb Tendrils, doesn't have an Enterhook and can't get into the Water. You really have to think a lot about it, observe the Paths of the Guards and pay attention to their Viewing Cones. Because when they find a Corpse, YOU come guards and patrol the Area. That is, you can't just turn everyone off little by little ... You can, but bear in mind that no one is allowed to see this, nor are the Corpses. Example: If 2 Guards talk, one of them always patrolled around and you turn off the standing guard, hide it and the 2nd Guard comes back, she will only wonder, no more:D The hardest are To pick UP ALL Badges. In all Missions we sometimes have to do light but also many heavy certain things, such as not killing enemies at all or killing Enemies in certain Ways like Drowning or killing by an Explosion. The Badges can be completed gradually. That is, you don't have to make everyone in a Run, which somehow makes it a little easier. Otherwise it would not be possible either, because you are often not allowed to kill Guards, but below it says, for example, "Kill all Enemies with a Torch." That is, you have to do the Missions more than 2-3x. For leathertime players, I would only recommend the Game for little Money. On Easy you can play it well, but you don't get any Badges for it! I bought it myself as a Key for £5,99. Max 10€ I would recommend. Variety doesn't really have it. You do the same thing in every Mission, only Place, the Paths and the Number of Guards are different. Principle is and remains the same. Only Cons:-The Chars talk and talk every few seconds and that often annoyed me ... At some point the Voices in Audio screwed down a bit because it just went foul on the Sack I give overall for Graphics, Gameplay and Game Time a 7 out of 10 (1 bad, 10 Best)
