About

Silent Storm from leading Russian developer Nival is a true 3D tactical turn-based Role-Playing-Game set against the backdrop of WWII. As the conflict rages on the frontlines, you’ll be leading a small multinational squad behind enemy lines to gather information and wreak havoc on your enemies while trying to thwart a mysterious new rising power whose plans are even more horrific than anything the world has yet witnessed.

Silent Storm is fully rendered in breathtaking 3D – and includes fully destructible environments, realistic weaponry and unlimited tactical possibilities. Turn-based gaming has never looked this good! The Story1943: The world seems to face its destruction in all parts; war is raging like never before. You are the commander of a squad, leading the soldiers you’ve selected into special and top secret operations to change the tide of war in your favour – allies or axis, it’s you choice!
The new Add-On "Sentinels" begins with the end of the WWII nightmare. Veterans from all countries, even former enemies, stand together and form the secret investigation and intervention group "Sentinels", for one purpose only: To stop the evil secret society "Thors Hammer" they have faced in war.

Flexible missions, 2 different campaigns for axis and allies.
24 missions during night and daytime, each one has to be prepared carefully and is enriched with random events.

Silent Storm Gold Edition reviews and comments

Silent Storm (S ²), or Silent Storm Sentinals (S ³), is one of the few Games that can be played again after an Eternity without getting Eye Cancer. In other Words, This Game has aged wonderfully. The Graphics may no longer be at the highest technical Level, but it looks far from bad. The Game Mechanics are-in my Opinion, of course-much smoother than with well-known Genre representatives like "Jagged Alliance 2," the Controls much more intuitive. The Idea that a third, secret Party has its Fingers in the Throes of World War II remains innovative and is processed in a logical and interesting Plot. You can start the Campaign from two very different Points of view And with a large self-created Variety of characters and create the Gameplay-whether "Stealth" or "full Top"-to match what promises a high Replay value. I played this Game ages ago, and more than extensively. And now there is S ², or S ³, finally on Steam. This is a unique Buy Recommendation!

What should I say. Many people love this Game. Many complain about this Game beeing too easy. I can not share their experience. To me: I played JA2 and the X-Com-Games on hard (which can get annoying) and still found some Joy in them kicking me around. Because there were progress and you know why you got rekt - mostly because frigging Aliens are just a lot more powerful than Earthlings (which makes sense). Here we have a Game where your highly decorated Sniper and the (according to his file) "invisible" Scout get spotted before they even see the enemy head on and get gunned down from someone with a Pistol - whilst your Rifle has around 0-2% Hitchance due the distance to the En emy. Most weapons wich had labled with 20-40 Meters range in their Tooltip have a realistic range in the Game from 2 Meters to 5 Meters max - or, your Men are suddenly 25 Meters tall and everything had scaled with them exept the Weapons. If you create an Ambush - enemy will act first and wipe you out. If you run into an Ambush - same. Enemy always acts first. Enemy hits 10 times better. Enemys have sometimes life far beyound reason - and othertimes none at all. Basically, to win the fight you got to Save-reload-reload-reload-save-reload.... . you know the drill. This Game could had been good and it had me the first hour - but then the frigging first Mission ♥♥♥♥ed me up. Squad Tactics that would make sense are impossible due the ♥♥♥♥ed up Balance between Playerchars and NPC. Finally, I tried on hardest difficulty to compare to the "easy-Mode" - and there were no change at all. If you get it in a Bundle or for free - good. Maybe you can spend 1 or 2€ on it. But nothing more if you ask me.
