After more than 70 Hours Of play, I can give a first Conclusion.
StarDrive 2 is a Game with great Potential, the Developer could have got a Lot out of the Genre, there is finally more than enough Demand for a "modern" Master of Orion 2.
Unfortunately, I Do not think he succeeded in this Game. The Game definitely has its good Sides but unfortunately the Negative outweighs.
----------------------------------Positive Aspects of the Game:-Beautiful Builder for Ships, good Selection of different Equipment.
-Possibility to name every Ship and every Planet. (Unfortunately, no Support for Special Characters and Umlauts.)
-Large Selection of Research and Buildings-Breeds feel "different," through Race-specific Ships and Folk Properties.
Negative Aspects of the Game:-A slightly more complex Ship selection would have been nice. There are only five "Floor Plans" per people, one for each Class of ship.
-Great Balancing Problems. Some Peoples have Ship Floor Plans on which there is substantially (!) more Components than on comparable Ship classes of other Peoples.
-In Part incomprehensible diplomatic Behaviour of the K.I.-the only real Contact is the Exchange of Technologies, real Alliances and a "diplomatic Feeling" is lacking.
-The Developer has unfortunately leaned back after Release and doesn't fix many Bugs and Problems, Updates are rare and then don't really help at the same time.
-Very limited tactical Possibilities in the Real-time battle, except for Orientations (Frontal and Broadside) as well as the Movement Posture (Hold or hold not) there are no major Possibilities.
Verdict: Too bad-the Game could have been something. With a bit more Love of the Game and a little more Choice in the Ship's Hulls, this Game would probably have become a good Successor to Master of Orion.
Unfortunately, the Developer is not interested in improving and Maintaining this Game.
If you like a little Skirmish in between, you might be able to make friends with the game, but if you are waiting for a revolutionary MoO-2 Heir To the throne, you will not be satisfied with this Game.

You are the Messiah!
---------------------------------------------And I need to know, because I've followed some! «, a Fanatic screeches in the Monty Python cult film The Life of Brian. It may be about the Son of God, but the Writing neck might as well be a Space strategist. Because even the Friends of the manicured Galaxy Conquest Have been waiting for their Messiah for almost 19 years-and may have finally found it with StarDrive 2.
-Just like damals----------------------------------------------One thing in advance: A space strategy game can of course be top notch even if it does not copy Master of Orion 2 1:1. But StarDrive 2 not only inherits its Game principle-we build a Star kingdom in a round of course-but also alludes so clearly to the Classic that the Comparison almost imposes itself.
The Bonds start with the Nous Names (Kulrathi instead of Bulrathi, Draylok instead of Darlok) and run like a common Thread through the Game Mechanics. For Example, in Research, where every Advance is divided into two to three Sub-technologies. But All of them only get» creative «Races, ordinary Peoples have to settle for a Technology and negotiate the Rest or steal it with Spies. Honours, that we can put together the advantages and Disadvantages of our Group ourselves.
Of Course, SD 2 also brings its own Ideas. For Example, space Stations with which we can use To rooms Horch posts or fast travel» motorways «In Space. Space Battles we do not hit Train by train, but in Real time. Lage-based running the Ground battles, which we are also allowed to fight ourselves. Plus, there are witty Peoples like the Pollops, scog-flipped hippie plants, and the Cordrazinine collective, planned Shell Balls that remotely control small Fur animals by Mind control.
Verdict:-------------------------------------------------StarDrive 2 is already a good space strategy game, it motivates, works, runs partly clean and looks at least neat-except in the snorthy ground fights. Above all, I could spend hours tinkering with new Ship models, the detailed Fleet construction Kit is a Core Strength of the Game for me. And yes, Gameplay and mechanics are actually reminiscent of Master of Orion 2. You could scold a Clone, I call it a Tribute. After all, Master of Orion 2 isn't just one of those Classics for me that you'd just have to reissue with modern Technology, and they'd still be awesome. That's why I like to play StarDrive 2.
