The Fall Part 2: Unbound
About
Sequel to the 2014 Game of the Year award winning "The Fall".
A lone AI has experienced a system collapse after encountering the limits of her narrow set of rules. Now, deconstructed and injected with a dark, invasive process, she must take to the global network in a desperate search for help.
In her quest, Arid (Armoured Robotics Interface Device) invades the bodies of three strange robots and attempts to enlist their aid. Arid may be unbound, but she's going to find that not everyone is as flexible as she is... or thinks she is. A truly bizarre story awaits you in The Fall Part 2: Unbound.

The side scroller "The Fall" is a Mix of Combat, Jump & Run and Adventure. The second Part of The Fall continues the Story of ARID of ARTIFICIAL Intelligence. She has to fight for her Survival and is not alone in doing so. She manipulates other artificial Intelligences to pursue her new Goal of finding the "User" who wants to destroy her. There are numerous Fights and some Puzzles have to be solved. The Player can decide before the Game whether he wants to have Fights or they can be kept to a Minimum.
The Game is longer than the first Part, with about 10 Hours (flying over the Lyrics, trying out Dead ends and repeating fights included) but still relatively short. However, the Graphics and the other Characters make the Game more varied and it is a significant Step forward to the first Game to be recognized.
New addition is a relatively simple but cool Melee Mode. ARID also learns two new Skills as the Game progresses. However, ARID can no longer "Dotes," but automatically hides behind certain Covers. Later in the Game, each of the artificial Intelligence Arid comes into contact with has a special Perspective-that is, a View of the World. This is an interesting psychological Aspect, especially with Regard to the current Development of artificial Intelligences.
The Game again raises the Question of how we deal with artificial Intelligences and how "we" can control "them." It also shows the Stupidity of programmed Systems and the Weaknesses of unthought Out structures. Here it seamlessly includes the first Part.
Criticism: The Control seems outdated, just the Turning is sometimes very annoying, so in order not to run backwards you have to pull the "invisible" mouse Pointer to the other Side of the Character. In Combat, that may make sense when Running and but rather don't jump (so in the Majority of the Game). Even switching between perspectives in the final Part of the Game is not always easy and can lead to Dead Ends. The Puzzles are all logical though, you're just overwhelmed with the Possibilities sometimes and that can annoy a bit.
Verdict: For Fans of the first Part, I can absolutely recommend it. For those interested in artificial Intelligence and Psychology, this Game can be an interesting Experience. Adventurefans that face a complex Challenge as well. You have to cope with the fact that it uses relatively small Duration and just outdated Mechanics (Side Scroller, Control, Graphics). I think 16 Euros is a bit overpriced at the Moment, but you have to decide for yourself. As a Fan of the first Part, I'm satisfied and now I have to wait for the third Part.
