Until Dawn (2024 Remake) reviews and comments

Until Dawn Remake revives the cult classic interactive horror with modern visuals, smoother performance, and a new third-person camera. While it retains its core identity — branching choices, QTEs, and the butterfly effect — it adds new scenes, collectibles, and a fresh ending that hints at a sequel. Graphically, it shines with Unreal Engine 5 enhancements, especially in character animations and environments. However, the removal of the original score, including the iconic "O Death," weakens the atmosphere. The over-the-shoulder camera trades cinematic direction for greater immersion but might divide fans. There's no online co-op, only couch multiplayer, which feels like a missed opportunity. For PC players, it's a great way to experience this horror gem for the first time. For PS5 owners who've played the original, the value may not justify the full price. Still, it remains a tense, replayable, and entertaining thriller — best played with friends in the dark.
I knew almost nothing about this game before playing, so everything was new to me. I really enjoyed the story, and the updated graphics look much better than the older version. This game had me sweating! The need to make quick decisions adds both excitement and fear. The atmosphere is also very well done—it's scary even outside of cutscenes because you're constantly waiting something to happen. This game is a must play.
