Assassin's Creed Back Flag Resynced reviews and comments

Black Flag is unanimously one of the peaks of Assassin's Creed, and this remake honours that legacy completely. Thirteen years after the original, sailing back into the Caribbean as Edward Kenway aboard the Jackdaw is a genuine joy from start to finish. Ubisoft Singapore chose to keep Resynced a true action-adventure game rather than pulling it toward recent RPG mechanics, and it pays off: combat feels sharper, closer to Assassin's Creed Shadows, while preserving the freedom between stealth and open combat that defined the original. The environment is the standout achievement here: a new dynamic weather system, ray-traced lighting, micropolygon rendering on vegetation and rock detail, and cities like Havana and Nassau teeming with NPC density the 2013 original never had. It's simply one of the most beautiful open worlds Ubisoft has ever produced. The story builds meaningfully on the original rather than rewriting it, with new content around Blackbeard and Stede Bonnet and three new officers joining Edward's journey, all integrated seamlessly into Darby McDevitt's still-sharp original writing. Only real gap: no DLC content from the original made it into this remake, with nothing announced to address that. One of the best remakes in years. An absolute must-own for your backlog.
