In short, Battalion 1944 is an infantry based first person shooter with an emphasis on raw skill. No grinding, no 'exosuits', just you and your skill as a player.Key Features

  • Raw skill based gameplay. We believe your skill should be determined by your play, not through unfair overpowered unlocks & abilities. Battalion takes design influence from classic skill based competitive shooters and merges that classic game feel with stunning next gen visuals and a fluid modern user experience.

  • Intense & balanced infantry combat. Our designers have played hundreds of multiplayer games to design the perfect formula for a well balanced WW2 shooter. The excitement in Battalion 1944 lies in the intense infantry combat and authentic down the barrel experience.

  • BattleRank. Fight as a lone wolf or team up alongside your friends. Contribute to your Battalion's season objective, receiving cosmetic & XP rewards for team and individual victories. Compete in regular challenges, ranging from seasonal to quick fire hourly objectives to earn rewards and extra XP. Challenges are broadcast via the main menu's BattleRank panel as well as the Battalion 1944 social channels.

  • Beautiful & realistic environments. Our incredibly talented art team are designing a visually stunning recreation of World War 2, travelling to Normandy to gather reference and research the war to make Battalion's weapons, buildings and environments as authentic as possible.

  • Cosmetic Progression System. Our progression system will not under any circumstances offer game breaking advantages to players of higher rank but instead will offer a purely cosmetic based unlock system. When you gain XP you will be rewarded with visual upgrades for your character, accessories and weapons within our realistic art style guidelines. This way players can shape their own identity and become a renowned and recognisable player within the community whilst still retaining an authentic World War 2 experience.

Battalion 1944 reviews and comments

Early Access Review BATTALION 1944-Much Potential, but also a Good Game? It's complicated. I share my Opinion here. If someone else has a different Understanding of a good Game, or is different From me, this is perfectly normal. The first Time I played BATTALION was in 1944 at Gamescom 2017. It was a great Way to invent the remaining Time. During the first Game, I was particularly stuck with the convincing Gunplay. It didn't have an extraordinary Twist, or a particularly eye-the-fact graphic, but it just worked and made an extremely Lot of Buck. The Developers also made a sympathetic and angadic Impression. Now, about half a Year later, it's appeared as Early Acces on Steam and I'm not quite sure. I Would most like to give neither a Thumbs up nor a Thumbs down at this Stage. Unlike on Gamescom, the Main Game mode is not a Team Deathmatch, but the classic "Counterstrike Mode." Attackers try to lay the Bomb and the other Team tries to prevent this. So Far so good and for the Long-term Motivation (a compromising Mode should follow) certainly helpful. The Graphics are similar. Neat, but nothing special. A lot has been done about the Gui And the Menu guide. It no longer looks like a poorly programmed Mod, but like a finished Game. My biggest Problem lies with the lauded Game-and-gunplay. It still goes easily by hand, is intuitive and runs very fluidly. The perfect Basis for a good Shooter. However, a few Things bother me a lot personally and at the Moment keep me from regularly putting a lot of Time into BATTALION 1944. On the one hand, these are all sniper rifles that are definitely too strong. Each Shot is a "One-shot." Whether in the Body or the Foot. Into the Cap or Fingernail. Whether it's five Meters or over the whole Map. Even a "no scope" is hardly less precise than a "hard scope." The biggest Criticism on my part, however, is the Precision that all Weapons also exhibit in the Jump and in The barrel. This seems to be the Same as with complete Gridlock. So you quickly find yourself on a Server where everyone bounces around with "One-Shot" weapons, jumping around Corners and shooting constantly from the Hip. But This doesn't have much to do with a Shooter to play in the Time of World War II. In addition, I noticed the Community very negatively. Either this is made up only of young Children and behavioural Adults or I have always played at the wrong Time so far. I don't have to tell anyone About Waffenskins. As long as it only stays with cosmetic Items, I have absolutely no Problem with that. All in all, I see a lot of Potential in BATTALION 1944 and I also believe it will develop even further. At this Stage, however, I cannot fully recommend it. Updates to follow.
