Bravada reviews and comments

Translated by
Microsoft from Italian
At first glance Bravada is not really one of those games that attract the attention of the player: a protagonist not really good-looking; Basic graphics; The lack of animations and a strange turn-based combat. In fact, under the crude peel of independent title, Bravada shows much deeper aspects than one might believe. The hero, described by the same game as "the classic hero who will always save All", is in this case a dwarf, and it is in his shoes that we take a short journey through seas and mountains to recover a mystical flower, the only one able to donate to the dwarf hero a Beard, the main characteristic of his breed but of which he, unfortunately, is completely unequipped. A plot therefore that does not take seriously and that, even if it does not trigger fat laughter during the game, is still enjoyable in his little. Bravada is in fact a modest title, completable in 5-6 hours without too much effort, once the most effective combinations are discovered. During The game we are placed in front of levels developed in one direction, as long corridors, a maximum of 10 squares. With A view from above, with vertical scrolling, we will have to move the hero in one direction, but without the possibility of backing off, if not a few steps. The same will do the enemies, moving in our direction each turn, similar to what happens in turn-based dungeon crawlers. The difficulty, at least initial, lies in the fact that moving the hero will move the entire group of the player; It thus autopmatically modifies the formation in the event that they swallow in obstacles, making the passage in cramped spaces rather difficult. Progressing in the game in fact you can meet new allies to take with them, or, if they die, replace them with copies of enemies. The combat, as well as the movement, happens without particular animations: Once you enter the attack radius of the enemy, or vice versa, the attack starts. But This is taking into account the different roles of the team members. While the hero's equipment is fully customizable, with weapons from distance, area or melee, the other team members, including monsters, evolve throughout the game. The Hero can choose whether to increase life, defense or attack, the other members can be transformed into two or three different versions, each with its own role and further evolutions. There are characters able to heal, others able to donate a magic shield, others perfect to resist the damage and others suitable for long or medium distances. No team is equal to the other and the player has the freedom to choose all the members progressing in the game, as long as they are able to keep them alive. One of the most valid strategy at the moment, for example, is to place three purple plants behind the hero, so that with their ability to donate an attack turn in addition to the Allied place in front, they grant three attacks in turn to your hero, the member Probably stronger than training. Since the limit of moving them all along with the long may tire or make a situation all too complicated, half game you will be granted the "tactical" mode through which you can move each character individually in the direction Desired. It Will be possible to implement more advanced tactics, necessary to defeat the bosses of end level, which will almost always tend to force the player to divide their group. From the beginning it will be possible to move a member in the desired position within tot blocks, but in doing so you lose a turn, making it a tactic to do only when a character is in extreme danger or out of a fight. Bravada Therefore, superficially, shows at stake all its potential, offering a good level of challenge (to difficult), so many units and evolutions, many equipments and long battles with the bosses, each one to face with a different strategy. To Enrich It further Interbellum has provided the player with a good variety of consumable objects, capable of changing the fortunes of a battle. Unfortunately the game requires various tweaks to the interface, not quite understandable, as well as several bugs that still afflicge the game. But, as we know, in the independent titles the technical and graphic aspect are not always treated in the same way, this therefore does not compromise the fun that Bravada can arouse in his simple approach, but always with an eye of regard, to the tactical side of Game. Congratulations to Interbellum, the team behind the game, to which I send the most sincere wishes because of the difficult situation in which they are, living within the Ukrainian war zone. A translation into Italian will also be published shortly.
