Cognition: An Erica Reed Thriller
About
FBI agent Erica Reed has an uncanny talent: she can see the past and piece together how a crime unfolded. But not even this sixth sense could save her younger brother, Scott, from a brutal serial killer. Three years later, the investigation into Scott’s murder has gone cold -- but Erica’s work has only just begun.
Jump into Cognition: An Erica Reed Thriller, the exciting four-part series that brings Erica face to face with the deranged demons of her past. A serial killer is loose in Boston -- one who seems to be leaving deliberate clues that only Erica, with her unique post-cognitive abilities, can uncover. Is she finally on her way to solving Scott’s murder? Or, blinded by vengeance, is she falling into a trap that could cost Erica her life? And how does this new killer know her secret?
Winner of six 2013 Reader’s Choice Aggie Awards, including Game of the Year, this edition of Cognition includes everything in the original game, plus brand new director commentary for all 4 episodes and exclusive content including concept art, storyboards, outtakes and other behind-the-scenes material about the development!
Developed by Phoenix Online Studios (makers of the King’s Quest spin-off The Silver Lining), with contributions from veteran game designer Jane Jensen (Gabriel Knight, Gray Matter) and comic book artist Romano Molenaar (Batman, X-Men, The Darkness), Cognition is a thrilling adventure that grips you and won’t let go.

First Impression: Cout Of Mouse moves as if you were underwater (s) (or Woman). Annoying Music in a loop that Is too short. Unsympathetic Protagonist, which is introduced without a big Background (in the middle of the Effect) so probably better read the Comic ... The HAHAHA does not start and can be viewed ... (Comic is available as a PDF in/Cognition/Launcher comers). Tutorial is inadequately crafted, i.e. experimenting with how the User Interface works.
All in all * * Meh * as a First Impression

I Don't Like it at all.
Dialogue Without fatigue what the Player sees does not count as long as you let it look at the Character terrible Music and SFX and a Unity Game. And Unity is bad: Things are missing, levels are wrong, etc and I don't like the Controls either: Click on the inventory, then the Object, then on the Object, then on the Action with the Object. There were enough Point & Click Adventures where you could have learned meaningful Interface design.
As a genre fan, I can't recommend this Game.

Excellent FBI Thrillier with a touch of supernatural from Jane Jensen, creator of the famous Gabriel Knight series.
Erica Reed a female Jack Bauer, being able to look into the past, chases the murder of her little brother a somewhat jiggsaw like nemesis (during play i was more than twice remembered to the movie saw).
The hand drawn graphics are good (very good when thinking of the low budged) and have the style of a comic book. The BGM is very fitting and i already own the soundtrack... but what really shines, is the voice acting including the voice of Raleigh Holmes **love** that give the final kick to this thrilling adventure.
I can recommend this whole series to every adventure fan out there and hope to see more of Erica Reed in the future.

Disappointing.
The supposedly "grown-up" storyline is unnecessarily brutal, undermining itself with implausible Characters, anticipated Erica Reed, the Main Character who behaves less like a professional FBI agent and more like a defiant little kid.
It does not help that the Game constantly insists on Making a Mockery of its rather pretty locations and Figures every few Moments with ugly Close-ups and hairy Animations.
Add to That puzzles of fluctuating Quality, strange Quizy-question Moments that have no effect whatsoever (seriously? My Superiors, who roared on me publicly and almost unsubstantiated a few Seconds ago, ask me Details of the Murder currently under investigation and I can deliberately answer completely incorrectly? And it has no Consequence Whatsoever?) And regular Backtracking and already we have an Adventure that is not worth playing.
Too Bad about it.
