About

Eat your veggies!
The lost episode of PC platforming legend Commander Keen hits Steam with this updated version for modern systems.
Billy Blaze, eight-year old genius, has just returned home after saving Earth from the Vorticons only to be confronted with a dinner made up of broccoli, Brussels sprouts and mashed potato. Having chosen to eat ice-cream instead, he finds himself besieged that night by horrible dreams full of living vegetables. The evil King Boobus Tuber has been trapping kids in the nightmarish land of Tuberia, where Tater Troopers patrol and Tomateeth are on the prowl. Trapped in his pijamas — with neither his Vorticon hyperpistol nor trusty pogo-stick for company — Commander Keen must destroy the Dream Machine and return the "sweet" to "sweet dreams".
This updated version includes:
Fullscreen and Windowed modes
Both the EGA and CGA graphics from the original game
Steam Achievements
Score and Time-trial leaderboards
Cloud saves
Now go get 'em, Commander Keen!

-get free (Lots O Giveaways)-+ Graphics + Control with a Controller-hardly any Sound-No Storage possible, despite the existing Possibility! = (whereby it's just a forward start I kind of don't get warm with the Game. It's only interesting for Fans of Keen. What annoys me is that after Finishing a Level you can't save and doesn't go buttons (Controller and Keyboard (only Steam Overlay works). And a forced Reboot of Game is required. Unfortunately, no Gaming is fun like that. Even the barely present Sound only promotes the negative Feeling. Clearly There is sound in the 2013, but there is unfortunately no such thing as Background music.

If you are over 30 years old (like me) you most likely played this back on a 286/386/486.. (well, the other Keen games at least). Keen is iconic! Keen was the game I first downloaded off the internet, in 1994-95 it took 1 hour to download the 2 or 3MB shareware episode on 33.6kbps dialup at a net cafe. Waste of money essentially but it was 'exciting' to wait 1 hour to download something that otherwise would have had to buy on a shareware disk. Epic platformers, similar to Super Mario 3 with the world map screen (more choices though as it is an open map, unlike the SMB3 map which has rails to move on) but with no 'killing' of enemies. The foodstuffs you fight, you have to throw things at them, they turn to flowers and then respawn a few moments later. If you never played this (or even if did and want a journey down memory lane) - get it! It might look 'crap' to you but imagine your other option in the very early 90s for PC gaming - it was way up there!

Very, VERY good platformer. I Strongly advise you to purchase Steam to get more or less adequate compatibility with modern OS. About compatibility-I'll write a separate paragraph below. Buying The game here, you will get a version of the game "run and play"-for those who do not like the dance with the Dobuks, who used to play with modern controllers (from X360 exactly supported). And also to the game Screwed Achivki (where now without them, born?), boards of honor, collectible cards and cloud saving. With all this, the game has not received any changes at all-even the sound of the same, Aki from the speaker. Well, now about the sad. If you have a time-tested and favorite majority of WINDIWS 7-Forget about this game-you will not be able to play it: you run it, but can not play because of graphics artifacts that will not allow you to see what is happening at the moment on the screen. And Yes, just forget about the game if your laptop has only an integrated video card. SURPRISINGLY, the 1991 game was to run on Win 8.1 x64, without any shamanic dances!
