About

Soul Reaver 2 is the third installment of the Legacy of Kain franchise. It continues the plot of its predecessor, Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver.

Plot:
1500 years ago the vampire overlord Kain conquered the fantasy world of Nosgoth and established a new race of immortal vampires. The Elder God, who sees vampires as an abomination against the circle of life, opposes Kain. When Kain killed his lieutenant Raziel, The Elder God brought the dead man back to life to fight against Kain.

At the beginning of Soul Reaver 2, both Raziel and Kain travel back in time to the ancient eras of Nosgoth. They both try to alter history in their favor. Raziel discovers he is the only person in Nosgoth who can evade his predefined fate, so he faces a dilemma: should he follow his predetermined past to defeat Kain, or should he break free from the bonds of destiny.

Gameplay:
The player assumes the role of Raziel, controlling him from the third person view. Raziel travels Nosgoth to fight monsters and other enemies. In the battles, he uses his Soul Reaver sword that allows him to steal the souls of his opponents. Various attacks can be used to form powerful combo movements.

Gathered souls allow Raziel to enter the spectral realm. It is a world of ghosts that mirrors the real world. Spiritual realm allows Raziel to regenerate his health and avoid certain obstacles. After dying in the real world, the protagonist has to continue his journey in the spirits' world.

Bloody hell! I'm sry i have to say this, but i was fooled by my love for the Legacy of Kain saga! I played everyone of them back then and they were like my first love, but,: This game isn't running correctly on newer systems, making it not even worth 1,74€.. i bought the bundle including: LoK: Soul Reaver, LoK: Soul Reaver 2, Blood Omen 2 Legacy of Kain and LoK: Defiance... Only the last one listed was nearly playable without bugs.. This outcomming of recent events is very sad, but nothing to do here...

There are a lot of bad Developers in the Industry. But Crystal Dynamics unfortunately far outnumbers them. Soul Reaver 1 I liked to play and also get through, but Soul Reaver 2 is no further on the PC Than the Proof of derincability of the entire Development team. As a Console Player, I have constantly read about how bad the Ports of current games are, how few Eating possibilities there are and so on. I never thought anything but now I had to experience it in my own life. Porting Soul Reaver 2 is an Insult to any Player. Rarely did an Enwtwicker seem so inept. Let's Start with Soul Reaver 2 Currently running on close to no PC that Has more than one Processor. If you Manage to work through the Folder Hell that was packed by Steam on the PC (You notice relatively little Experience with PC games) and find the SR2.exe so you have no rest but it in Compatibility Mode from Windwos 95-98 ( From XP there are problems to start). But then more Problems begin. Due to the ENtwicker's lack of Skills, the Sound cracks in the Game, constantly. In addition, there are mikrorucklers and Sounds that constantly describe themselves, such as opening Doors or Cries from dying Opponents. But this is far from the worst. The absolute worst thing is the Fact that there is no German Version of the Game. That would not be a Problem, at least, there would be Subtitles that were Stadard 15 Years ago. Even those don't exist in Soul Reaver 2. So I felt forced to download a Deutschpatch due to the different Accents in the Game, which is accompanied by even more Problems. The Patch formally rapes The Option Menu. Control Options are now with "Sound." Sound Options for "Graphik" (written With PH ...) and Gameplay Options can now be found at "Entf." Sure, that's because of the Deutshcpatch. But I wouldn't have to invite him to the SPiel in German at Steam. Once you have loaded the Deutschpatch, control Options cannot NOT be CHANGED MHER. You have to do That before Patching, because now all the Actions are absolutely wrong. Blocking = SPringen. Jumping = open The Circle menu etc. And you can't even scroll through the Options, which is why 2/3 of the Actions can no longer be seen at all. As much as I loved SR 1, I'm disappointed with SR 2. The Developer was not tintelligent enough to release a decent PC version at the Time. Therefore, I never see myself forced to buy a Game from Crystal Dynamics again until SR 2 has been patched.

The original game was a hidden gem, the sequel didn’t live up to my expectations. I still think this is a good game but it doesn’t look and feel so innovative its predecessor did. Although I can’t ignore that the story and especially the ending is much improved from the first installment. The game feels very complete in this aspect.
