Lords of magic: a game of strategy heroic fantasy in turn by turn.. a pure masterpiece released in the 1990s years.
To situate the context, the story takes place on Urak, land where several antagonistic cult followers of magic coexist.
Antagonistic cults:-worship of the air (Pixies) and worship of the Earth (dwarves)-cult of water (reptiles) and cult of fire (Warriors of the flames)-cult of chaos (barbarians) and cult of the order (soldiers in armor)-cult of life (High Elves) and cult of death (El Black FES) in order to spread death, the mighty God of death, Morgoth, invoked an evil sorcerer named Balkoth and made him an artifact so that this warlord would repeat death wherever he trampling the ground.
The goal is to defeat balkoth (if you lead a cult different from the cult of death): it is a necromancer sorcerer who rides a flying Steed (a kind of giant bat).
In order to defeat it you have to free the Cathedral from your cult and friends cults in order to be able to get disciples every week (1 week = 7 rounds).
But also, you can improve your diplomatic relations with other cults by exchanging military units, or resources. You can after improving your relations free the cathedrals of "friends" cults so that the leader of this faction joins your camp and this if your faction leader is dead, he will replace him as heir.
If you control Balkoth (cult of death) your goal is to defeat all the other cults until the last.
Several types of faction leader and champions exist:-Warriors (very well protected and MUs in the art of combat to the body)-the Mages (champions who master the art of attack magic and support to military units): each faction has its spells own-thieves (champions who master the art of discretion, often used to spy, do reconnaissance, or steal resources from military units of a different type from the thief. These champions control the art of remote attack) once the Cathedral is liberated, you can improve the buildings near your capital but also improve it in order to be able to increase your training capacities of your future units by heroes with a strong combat/theft experience.
You also have the opportunity to learn spells in the Magi Tower and summon creatures (without experience). 1 Mage location in formation by Magi Tower level (3 Max).
Once the Magi tower at level 3 you have the opportunity to invoke via the Special building (which you can build via the Cathedral of worship) a legendary creature that will fight by your side (1 legendary creature max).
This game is excellent for turn-by-turn strategy enthusiasts with spell management.
The music composed by Keith Zizza beautifully accompanies the different moods of the game.
I highly recommend it for any fan of turn-by-turn strategy.
