Metro: Last Light Redux
About
It is the sequel to the game Metro 2033. Both games are based on the world of Dmitry Glukhovsky's novel Metro 2033 - in post-apocalyptic Moscow, in the tunnels of subway lines groups of very different people survive. And not only people. There are mutated people there, and mutated animals. They are distinguished by unusual abilities, but even more - behaviour strategies. In the struggle for the remnants of resources, all these beings spend their gloomy days.
All characters use unusual and unexpected means for life and war. Something is created from the remnants of a past, normal life, something has already appeared in a new, changed world.
Locations are struck by an unusual synthesis of the ruins of a known world and traces of a catastrophe.
From the previous game Metro: Last Light differs, according to general opinion, by careful work on the remarks and shortcomings of the previous game. The set of weapons is significantly expanded, the technologies of Metro 2033 have become more developed.
The game has two fundamentally different endings and five additions.

Metro: Last Light Redux reviews and comments
+ The whole atmosphere of the locations (both underground and on the surface)
+ Balanced ratio of human to monster enemies' packed levels
+ Pavel's, Khan's, and little Dark One's characters, which adds a lot of interesting plot devices
+ Details such as: recharging batteries in a flashlight, pumping the weapons, changing masks and their filters - all of that really brings immersion to your playthrough
+ Walking, chill sequences where you learn some backstory of different places and factions are as interesting as are action-filled levels
+ Music and graphics
CONS:
- Artyom still won't speak (annoyes the hell out of me when MC is always silent)
- A whole gang of minor visual bugs and errors
- One very problematic and popular crash (restarting the chapter should work magic)
- Not a lot of sequences that will scare you (Metro 2033 was much more scary/unsettling)
- Really short missions, the game was over way too quickly in my opinion
The way I see it, Metro Last Light is just an extension of the previous installment, as there aren't any innovations or novelty in comparison to Metro 2033. It still means that the game is as much fun as the first one in the series and it is a must have if you enjoyed the 2033. It is still a climatic and solid piece of work.
Игра стала интереснее и красивее Метро 2033, но сюжет так и остался дерьмовым, ведь это прямое продолжение Метро 2033.
The gameplay in this is definitely noticeably better than its predecessor, which was pretty bad, whilst not being amazing it does the job. Difficulty spikes can sometimes be frustrating and seem to appear out of nowhere. Sometimes I would auto save at a checkpoint having no health kits and be a few shots from death which meant dying repeatedly got stale fast. My final gripe is that the main character still doesn't speak, like what the hell. When someone asks you a question and you just stand there not saying anything it really pulls you out of the immersion.
These aside, the game is great; it's creepy, atmospheric and looks great. Definitely worth a play for people who enjoy survival horrors or just a great narrative experience just be warned it's a bit clunky.
