State of War and Warmonger Classic 2001 reviews and comments

Translated by
Microsoft from Russian
There Was such a game before-State of War. This is an isometric real-time strategy that came out around the same time as Warcraft 3 (at least if you talk about the CIS) and a little later than a few C&C. The Game is designed by a not very well-known company, had a very specific gameplay and was Technologically retired from the competition. These factors influenced the Igrozhur (yes, the game journalism never changes), thanks to which they received the title of "unsuccessful clone C&C" and extremely low scores. The Game was scolded for slow and incomprehensible gameplay, weak graphics and sound, and in general-for that only did not scold. From The players she received mixed scores, but by the end of the years they still found themselves in order above the ratings from the player. Someone praised the game, and someone also did not understand and the unit, and since the game Oklemilmi failed, played in it not so many people. In the end, it happened that the State of War was forgotten and everything that it brought into the genre was also lost. But is it bad? Let's sort it out. The Game is deliberately slow, so that the player had the opportunity to build a strategy, not just microcontrolling units. In This game you need to control everything, and think more than to do action. At First, its slowness seems boring, and the first missions are extremely light, which can mislead the player that the game is simply unsuccessful. But The complexity of missions is rapidly increasing, and quite soon it becomes necessary to apply very great effort to pass the mission. However, it is not because they are overly complex, but because the player must be able to build the right tactics. Many who have kept in the game until the realization of this moment, begin to find it quite fascinating and really tighten until all the levels. In This game there is not a single broken gameplay mechanics-everything that is laid by developers, works correctly. However, there are many designer flaws that prevented the most players from seeing the potential of the game, and this is unfortunate. The State of War Subgenre, in fact, is a real strategy. It focuses On the whole picture of the battle, not only its individual situations, as in many RTS. Here you need to follow absolutely everything, and correctly apply each lever control battle. Interestingly, this is the only one of my childhood games, which proved to be interesting for passing years later. While the rest of the games of the past caused me only boredom and lack of understanding of what I liked in it, State of War fascinated me so much that I passed it to the last mission (which for me was too brain-bearing), although long ago did not pass single Games on the 1-3 level. The Version in the steam has received the update-above FPS, support for new systems, in general-a great reason to pass your favorite game. And Given that the package is still a supplement Warmonger-generally great. For 260 rubles You get an interesting strategy with a lot of single missions, it is worth it. P.S.: English voice is worse than Russian.
