About

Zigfrak is a space-based action RPG, featuring missions, exploration, and crafting. With an emphasis on loot and over-the-top items, it's not a traditional space sim. Enemy ships explode like loot piñatas, spewing forth useful pickups. The game employs subtle humor to poke light at a dark situation -- a human civil war on a galactic scale, complicated by the invasion of technologically superior aliens. During the campaign, players encounter clues and artifacts which could reveal ancient secrets of humanity. Features: Fast-paced space battles Tooth-grinding enemy encounters Expansive open environment Fun, variable gameplay Ludicrous space loot Hundreds of humorous missions Craftable weapons and ammo upgrades

Zigfrak reviews and comments

The idea of a Space Sim/RPG with simple Loot and Quest systhem appealed to me a lot. And the approaches have really succeeded, especially the steurung itself without a controversial one has really succeeded in the Universe itself is relatively well designed graphically. But unfortunately masive content outweighs the weakening of the disturbs, at least for me, that disturb or Destroy. All Menus are pure Drag Down or popUp menus and you really have to click through all the flat very chaotic, here I miss vivid surfaces and Inventory lists etc ... Furthermore, the design of the own ship is Very Lovelle (a single shiny more colorful lump), both graphically and in the Attaching of the equipment and other Loot. Another Great weak is the Capture of other ships or the HUD almHaund, the Living unum is far too bright and active than that you can recognize the Dragging and Pull Clamps well and so more often blind flight is called for. Anyone who can look the other way over it and has no problem with Chaotic menus and some induction time is certainly well ordered, my fazit is unfortunately negative.

Don't Be fooled by the small Price. Zigfrak offers much more than you would like to guess from the screen shots, Price or non-existent marketing. Of Course, the Game does not offer the graphic Quality of an Egosoft product, nor the Complexity of the same, but in other Aspects all the more so. Zigfrak plays similar to Freelancers rather arcade-heavy, this is also reinforced by "power-ups" which can appear while struggling (but these are never necessary for the Success of a Mission). Opponents burst in an arpg like loot cloud and just like in an arpg there are more enhanceable equipment slots at all Corners of the Ship. From various Weapons systems, to drones, to Engines or Shields via various types of ammunition, there are also several curious Objects that give unique active or passive Effects. In addition, there is a simple crafting system with which you can modify, for example, rockets. The number of ships is comparatively low, but it also offers large Battleships. Although the Story is only told in text windows and short ingame sequences, there are entire story strands for every side order that seems to seem so unimportant, which usually bristles with Irony, slapstick or Sideswipes on other Products. The sheer Mass of Content still makes me marvel, especially at the Price. The Soundtrack is consistent and fits the Scenario, even providing appropriate Soundscape As Part of a "Mafia" mission. In Short: If you have a little Fun with Space Sims, arpgs and can ignore missing Voice output and the somewhat old-fashioned Graphics you have to access here. So Much good Entertainment rarely comes for such a tiny Price.
