About

Tempelhof, Berlin, dawn of 8th April 1949.
A major armed conflict is brewing between the Western powers and the Soviet bloc. The Red Army has been growing ever stronger since the end of World War II. With the growth of their army the Soviets realize that they hold the advantage, and are only waiting for the right moment to attack. That moment arrives with the Tempelhof Incident: the near-fatal collision of a US cargo plane and a Soviet fighter over Berlin's main airfield. A fatal combination of coincidence and human error, there is no point in arguing what went wrong, no point in asking who pulled the trigger first and who fired on whom in return. The Incident went down in history as fatal.

Within 12 hours of the crash the ground beneath the German capital is shaking with the salvoes of a war never meant to be: a conflict between former allies over Europe and global supremacy.

Codename: Panzers - Cold War reviews and comments

Anyone who knows Panzer's Phase One and Two knows what to get into with this Title: Pros (+) a Lot of Action with a good Dose of strategy to take advantage of the Strengths and Weaknesses of the units (+) very good Music and Weapon sounds (+) nice graphics, certainly no more High-end but for a Strategy Game fully ok (+) many different Missions and Mission Goals-hardly Any Repetitions in the Design (+) Scenario is overall very appealing ... Contra (-) ... But could have been better implemented in terms of Storys-wise, if I think of Cold War, Intrigues and Conspiracies immediately come to mind (-) Missions are quite short (-) with about 30 to 40 min quite short (-) the finding Of the Tanks is as bad as ever and requires a lot. Micromanagement in the Endgame (-) unfortunately the Conversations in the Game are not directly set To music, you have to press pause and read along many times if you don't want to miss a Mission Goal change or Hints Besides all the bad Reviews that are here at Steam, I have to say, There were no stability or Start-up Problems (at least with me). The latest Patch, which had removed the (aggressive) Copy protection, probably had its Good. In total, you can access for €10 to €15 with peace of mind, provided that The Criticisms do not disturb you too much.

Codename: Tanks-Cold War When I think of Tanks, I am at the same time thinking that it is one of the best Real-time Strategy Games. The Cold War setting does not offer anything new, but it has been implemented very well. The Areas are credibly and visually beautifully implemented, even by today's Standards. The Game also offers some Effects and also runs on weaker Computers nicely stable. But above all the fast and tactical Feeling of playing has been very successful and you have to use all the Possibilities to really Succeed, especially against other Players. There is quite a complete Number of different Troops, especially in the Infantry, but also in the Case of Vehicles and Tanks, is possible through Individualization, much in a strategic Point of view. If you can only afford one Tank, but equip it with a Flamethrower to ambush with Infantry and thus conquer enemy Tanks, or you proceed Wisely with heavy Battle tanks and Repair vehicles. And these are just two of the many Possibilities. The Story is quite passable, but don't tell you off The Stool, it does your Job and is better than in other Genre Representatives, but in my Opinion can't keep up with the Story of a World in Confcts. The Sound Backdrop is also very successful and ensures a good Atmosphere. In Short: Great Real-time Strategy game, with a strong Focus on Individualization and many Possibilities with a still good Graphics!
