About

Day of the Tentacle Remastered - the classic two-dimensional quest, the continuation of the first game Maniac Mansion, where the Purple Tentacle burst out of the laboratory of the crazy Dr Fred Edison. It was initially released 25 years ago by Lucas Arts and Tim Shaffer. The player controls in-game characters by clicking on objects in the game world with the mouse.

The game begins three years after the first part, the Purple Tentacle drinks toxic water from the sewage. It becomes smarter and gains arms. Dr Edison again must save the world and stop the tentacle calamity.

One of the main mechanics of the game is time travel: at the very beginning of the game, the protagonists are separated because of a faulty time machine. Players solve riddles, search for necessary items and try to stop the Purple Tentacle - the result of an unsuccessful scientific experiment.

The remastered version includes visually reworked game locations, an original soundtrack and an indescribable atmosphere of craziness.

Day of the Tentacle Remastered reviews and comments

I didn't know the original version of the game, but I had a lot of fun. The humor, the characters, the story, IT'S GREAT!
Truly stood the test of time

Review Day of the Tentacle Remastered Hach, the Game was pure Nostalgia! Long, long ago, I played the Original sometime in 1993 as a young Adult. As a big Fan of the Lucasfilm/LucasArts Adventures, I played their first Adventure Maniac Mansion and the brilliant Sequel Day of the Tentacle at the Time. That was a really big Thing at the time-even with Voiceover (a Novelty);) Now I fought my way through the Property again and had many beautiful Moments that reminded me of earlier. However, I also had to bind quite nicely, because I couldn't remember the Puzzles in Detail. And since I still knew the twisted Style of LucasArts, I also made quite good progress. If you don't think much around the Corner, you might get stuck a little bit here and there. The Puzzles are in Principle comprehensible, but they are also quite twisted. But nowadays this is no longer a Problem. If you want to check the Internet, there was no such Luxury at that time. And I really used my Hair more often because I just couldn't get any further. :) Technically, the Game is made nice, though not a Revelation. It looks coherent and atmospheric (typical LucasArts style), the Sound is ok, but the Voiceover sounds a little set up and (from today's Point of view) sometimes not good. Overall, Day of the Tentacle is wonderfully playable and doesn't look like a Game out of the Moth Box. As a nice Gag-as with the two new Versions of Monkey Island-you can switch to the old Original graphics (including the whole typical SCUMM verbs) at any time with F1. That pleases-and all the younger Players can see what Graphics we were celebrating back then ...:) Any LucasArts fan can be blindly recommend the Game. In My Opinion, however, it is also completely detached from wonderfully playable and just a good Adventure even today. My Rating: Graphic: 7/10 Sound: 5/10 Circumference: 8/10 Atmosphere: 10/10 Play fun: 87%

I went back 20 years! Remastered in an excellent manner, perfectly faithful to the original and graphically pleasing. For the more nostalgic, there is also the Classic version among the options. It seems to work well, even though I started playing recently. Italian language for texts. 15 euros well spent! Top

More than 20 years ago I already played this game once, so I knew what awaited me. But it remains hilarious to see back and one of the highlights from the point-and-click adventure period of Lucasarts. A nice addition is also the comments of the makers. As far as I'm concerned, a remake can now be made of Sam & amp; Max hit the road or the Monkey Island games.

I already knew this game from my childhood. Then I thought it was great, so I was curious how I would find it now. I can only say that the game is really well put together. It is really funny! Sometimes you have to use your imagination to come to a solution of a problem in the game. So it's not an easy game. The ambiance, music and the new rendering of the graphics make this game really worth it! Definitely recommended if you like click adventures!

I still have the original CD-ROM with the PC version in the desk drawer. You can not and do not have much to say: the game is just a cult and I'm glad I can play it on my Mac after all these years. The implementation and operation is all in all very successful. The game is easy to use, the switchable audio comments of the developers are very informative. The new purchase was worthwhile and I still have many hours of nostalgic playtime ahead ;-)

I'm really happy that this classic made it to the Mac as a remastered version. Great, that the German language version is included. However, it is in the German dubbing with the same soundtrack provided with some Tonfehlern as the original 1993. Unfortunately, only the English language version for the remastered version was re-set. Still, no reason for me to deduct a point for this ingenious point-and-click adventure. The game emits in its remastered robe the same charm as with the classic VGA graphics. This adventure is in terms of originality, ingenuity, creativity and humor a milestone and always worth playing again.
So fun, This game is a prime example why point and click adventure games are beloved by gamers. I highly recommend it if you're into entertaining silly games.
