About

Mytheon is a light MMO-RPG which can be played solo or as a group which combines elements of action RPGs and collectible card games. You create an avatar from one of three classes and collect stones of power which act as your spells, abilities and pets. Using the stones, you can explore 14 different adventure areas to collect loot and new stones. Your ultimate goal is to defeat Zeus and the Greek pantheon of gods on Mount Olympus. Welcome to the world of Mytheon, Stonecaster!

Originally released in 2010 as a free-to-play Action-RPG MMO, the game has been slightly redesigned to support a simple one-time purchase for all core content.

Key Features
  • Explore on your own or meet up with friends to defeat the gods.
  • No microtransactions!
  • Three classes with unique stone sets.
  • Unique combat system using randomized “stones of power” to summon powerful minions and spells to the battlefield.
  • Over 130 stones of power to collect; create battle sets (“decks”) from your collection to take to adventure zones. Customize your battle set to face your foes.

  • 14 instanced adventure zones to explore, including two end-game max level zones. Each zone has a final boss that will require great skill or a group to defeat.
  • Play solo or group with three additional friends to face tough foes.
  • Three dueling arenas to practice your skills against friends.

  • Mail and Broker systems allow you to trade or sell your hard won loot to other players.
  • Form a guild with like-minded Stonecasters.
  • Thousands of loot items to find and equip on your avatar.
  • Hundreds of quests (Labors) available. All quests are repeatable up to their level cap.
  • In-game achievements (Feats) available for every adventure zone.
  • Use the Stoneforge to craft new stones or gear from recipes found in the world, or sacrifice your unneeded stones to try for a new one.

Mytheon reviews and comments

I Must say that if it were not a game set in ancient Greece, my assessment would be radically different. Mytheon proposes a descent to Hades, a frantic fight against the gods of the Pantheon in the style of God of War but with a game system closer to Titan Quest. If you liked any of these titles, you should consider your purchase. Pros:-Great historical ambience (or rather mythological). -Absolute Fidelity to Greek mythological accounts, counted directly through the NPCs (Mission dialogues). -New Rune Combat system to summon allies to help you on the battlefield. It'S like merging a role-playing game with a card. Cons:-It is Not an MMO to use. It Seems that this new version of the game that came out in 2010 has not had the expected success and the server (yes, there is only one) is quite empty. -Texts in English. In a hack & slash title as could be this the texts are secondary, but if you really want to know the Greek myths and delve into their history, you better drive another language, because it has not been translated into Castilian. -DLCs System. I Did Not expect it, but soon to acquire the game I found that they had taken an expansion (Egypt Pack) at a higher price than I had cost the game base. It must Also be said, however, that there is the possibility of buying the full pack at a reasonable price. Game advisable, although if you are looking for a better MMO look elsewhere.

I Played the beta when you could play and I have to say that it is quite entertaining, especially if you play with someone. You can play solo too... Although it becomes more difficult as it is logical, that if the game requires Internet connection to play it, even if it is solo. The combat system is ARPG style devil although the "skills" of the character are objects that are bought ingame. Where is all the "chicha" of the fighting is in the invocation stones system, there are several different types, summon creature, invoke building that attack, invoke support building, invoke a meteor shower, increase the attack of all your allies... And so a long etc. There Are stones that have combo between them which increases its power, there are also stones that, if you have them all, you have the option to summon, for the price of 3, a powerful ally or spell that will make the Tornados change in your favor. If you get stones that do not serve you, or you can vendersela to other players, or you can use the forging and combine those stones to obtain another random of equal or greater power. In the game there are 3 classes, warcaster centered on minions, elementalist centered on spells and Eidolon centered on buildings, each has a few stones that can only be used by that class. In his day I enjoyed it a lot and if it was free, but to get some things you had to pay with real money for microtransactions, now you buy it once and you can have everything (previously bought with real money, now is bought with gold from the game). So It costs now I would give it a try
